a/n: sorry it's been a bit, I've been a little busy and I've taken liberty in writing two stories at once so here we go. This chapter is only to be understood by the FPE, and if you understand it, I hope the context is okay enough for you. If not, just read on, you'll understand it eventually.

"I saw you this morning."

Paige entered in quite spunk. Tyler chuckled, shrugging.

"I guess some risks are willed when you must run." He replied. Paige laughed, looking at his egg-like head as it was buzzed. She smiled, humming at the refreshing look.

"Did she shave it, Jenna?" She asked. Tyler nodded, smiling at the thought of his beloved wife.

"Yes, I needed it don't you think?" He asked, Paige nodded.

"I suppose." She said, He nodded along, bobbing his head up and down as Paige shrugged. She sighed, her brain humming in thought as she suddenly popped a deep question Tyler hadn't payed attention to all too much in the current waves of time.

"Would you ever kill, Tyler?" Paige asked suddenly, Tyler raised an eyebrow.

"What kind of question is that?" He asked, Paige shrugged.

"I think it's a question everyone would ask. Turns out you haven't." She said, Tyler looked up where the bars met the ceiling, as if that's where the answer laid.

"I mean, isn't it obvious my answer?" He asked, Paige shrugged.

"You're saying it as if it were a person, perceiving it differently from what I'm trying to say." She said, Tyler's eyes grew.

"Oh. You're asking in general." He said, Paige nodded.

"Yes." She said, Tyler started to realize that she was unknowingly finding her way through to Trench on her own. This was her way of climbing out of Dema, unintentionally. She asked questions instead of looking for the answer inside. She was growing. Tyler smiled at this, she turned her head in confusion like a dog.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked, Tyler snapped back, looking at her, smiling.

"Oh, nothing." He said, hanging on the bars.

"So, would you ever kill?" She asked.

"No, I wouldn't. Anything I'd want away I wouldn't kill. I'd do away with it another way." He said, Paige nodded.

"That's what I thought you'd say." She said, Tyler nodded.

"Who would you live for?" She asked out of the purple. Tyler looked at her if she was crazy, chuckling.

"Why are you asking these deep questions? Where are your sarcastic remarks?" He asked stupidly, Paige's face straightened and her brow furrowed.

"Maybe I can be questioning too?!" She said, Tyler put his hands up.

"There's nothing wrong with it, I'm just surprised it's coming from you, that's all." He said.

Paige looked back up, smiling. She blushed small, Tyler chuckled, smug.  He looked at her through the bars, she perceived something she shouldn't have, and something Tyler didn't intend but it was taken as such on her side. Tyler's eyebrows rose, letting him sigh and furrow them with a straight face in his normal resting face.

"To ask these questions is to find a purpose, you know." He said, smiling again. Paige's eyes shifted, shrugging.

"Sometimes a purpose is worth it, right?" She asked.

"It's always worth it." Tyler said, "It's what we find ourselves as. It's what we are."

"Who would you live for?" She asked dreamily, Tyler was blind to this emotion coming from her, as she was so ignorant to love before and she was suddenly venturing into unfamiliar territory.
