Chap 59: Give Up (2)

Eunwoo's POV

"Hyung.. I followed your advice and confessed to Chenle."
He fidgeted with his fingers for a while before breaking out into a smile.

"He said he liked me back!"
He seemed excited about it and pulled me into a tight embrace.

I stood there, paralysed from shock and unable to hug him back. I never knew a simple touch like that could break me, but it did.

"Thank you so much, I wouldn't have the guts to make such a huge leap in the dark if it wasn't for you."
He grinned as he pulled away from me. I couldn't look him in the eye anymore and just looked at the floor as I nodded my head.

"Y-you're welcome.."
I forced myself to meet his eyes and tried my best in smiling back.
"I'm happy for y-you both."

Taking a few steps back, I looked at my watch and made an excuse to leave, saying that I had too much work left to complete.

He seemed disappointed at how quick I left when I had so much to tell him and how many things he had to say that were definitely going to hurt me.

I regretted even going back to him in hopes of getting him back.

I wanted to cry so bad.
I had definitely lost him this time.
I was no longer needed by him since he had Chenle.

The next few days went on just like that, and I realised how much my work progress was deteriorating.
I couldn't focus anymore. I stayed in my office most of the day and tried to cram myself with the work, but the lack of focus I had prevented me from doing anything.

After a while, I just gave up.

It was all just a waste of time.

I hit send onto my resignation letter to the board, even though I knew I had to leave the school for good and there was no turning back once it got through.

I waited for a reply.

They gave me a week to pack everything.

I left the first day.
