Maria's POV

"I'll be here when you get home okay sweetie?" my father kissed my forehead.

"Okay." I smiled happily. Mom then kissed my cheek. "I'll be at work but not for long hopefully." she frowned and I chuckled.

"Okay, love you guys." I walked to the door opening it. "I love you too!" my parents both shouted before I got in my car driving to school.

My name, is Maria Ginnle. I'm sixteen, in tenth grade. My school's name is Roseville High School. It's a great school really. Before I went to Roseville, I was being bullied and irritated at Eastland High School. It sucked. I was new of course and I didn't want to start any trouble with the girls or boys or anyone. I don't go to school for friends, I go for an education. Honestly, I do not plan on going to College.

My mom is a business worker, I have no clue at all what she does because it goes in one ear and out the other. Dad works mid nights with the alpha, he's the Beta of my the pack. I think he works on cars too.

I think I am leaving out an important part of my life, I'm an unmated werewolf. Yes, a werewolf. That thing that like, shifts into a huge dog, but not a dog a wolf. Werewolves are very hard to spot. We are good at hiding or identity.

The first shift, is the worst! It hurts so bad and it lasts hours! I can never ever forget my thirteenth birthday.

When I arrived to school, I smiled as my best friend came running to my car, Jace. I got my bag and stepped out of my car. "Hey Jace," I smiled.

"Hey Maria, what's up?" Jace came by my side.

"Same old same old, you know nothing changes with me." I chuckled. We walked inside the school filled with empty halls. We went to the lunch room and everyone went silent. They all seemed to be looking at me but at the same time it looked like they were looking behind me. I shrugged and just took my seat next to the rest of my friends. Everyone went back to talking and eating their breakfast. It was weird really until I noticed what was going on. The alpha walked in behind me. Whenever an alpha walks into any room his has to nod his head for everyone to resume their morning, day or evening.

I am apart of the Hanvain Pack. It's not a small pack, it's huge; at least that's what I've heard.

"So, how's everyone's life?" Shad asked everyone out of the blue.

I laughed," Okay, I guess. Mom's still home late and dad's still going to work late so that means my parents are not spending time together which makes them both upset."

"Do they argue?" Jace asked me.

"Nope, not at all." I smiled.

After breakfast, we all went to class. I put my bag in my locker and just had my books in my hand. First class was Art. Jace linked our arms together and I smiled at him. Jace was very tall. He had black messy hair that literally stayed messy. His eyes were dark brown and he was well built, as in he wasn't weak. I'm kind of happy he's my friend because I'm not the type of girl that everyone knows. I'm more like, that girl that people know and want to hang out with. But not popular.

"So..." Jace trailed off. I always knew he had a crush on me, but really and truly I am saving myself for my mate. Whoever he is.

"So what?" I looked up at him.

"I have to tell you something." he replied stopping. This couldn't be good. "The thing we have has to end, I was walking yesterday and I bumped into my mate." he told me. Wait, what thing? We're only friends. I was shocked at first. "Congratulations! It's apart of nature. We're only friends Jace. Umm, where is she?"

"Well, it's Diana." he told me and my jaw dropped.

"Diana Jane?" I said her name with disgust.

"Yes. Our friend. She said she doesn't want me to hang out with you anymore." he whispered the last sentence.

"What!? Why?" I shouted.

"I can't tell you."

"What do you mean you can't tell me? We've been friends since like kindergarten Jace, and you just found out she was your mate. Let me not, have a great life with her Jace. It was great being your friend," I marched off to the bathroom. Wow. Friends? No. More like not friends. Not frenemes either. It's not like I had a plan B for a friend.

I stopped in the bathroom and washed my face and fixed my hair. A horrible, horrible scent flew past my nose. I turned to walk out of the bathroom but I was yanked by my hair and pinned to a wall. "Hello wolf." a old dirty faced man snarled. He was smilinh widely, which showed his dirty teeth and his horrible breath. I tried pushing him off of me, but this dirty bastard was strong! "What?" I tried to sound confused.

"Don't play bucket with me little girl! You're one of those monsters, aren't you?" he growled.

"I'll tell you everything if you let me go." I chocked out. He hesitantly let me go and I slightly smirked. "Dumbass." I growled as I quickly snapped his neck. I'm so not a fan of rogue's. The alpha walked in and he looked angry. He shot daggers at me then at the hobo on the floor. "Get to class." he ordered. I immediately went to my art class sitting in the last seat in the first row. Jace was sitting in the front of the class with Diana. She looked back at me and I just rolled my eyes.

Sketch day! Do anything you want. You may use your phone to keep yourselves concentrated. I better not hear any disgusting, bad, violent music.

I should get working.

The end of the day, came slow. I mean this day was horrible. Quiet I guess. I received dirty looks from Diana, and apologetic looks from Jace.

I was now in my car on my way home. I got home and neither of my parents' cars were in the driveway. I got out of my car and went inside.

As soon as I walked inside I saw a note taped to a wall.

Had to go to work early, love you and see you tonight.

Dad.

Okay then.

I grabbed a bottle of water and went outside. My house was really surrounded by the woods. I always go walking. I took the path I'd always take, it lead me to a waterfall.

The waterfall was the definition of beauty. I opened my water and drank the whole thing.

I took of my shoes and put my feet in the water, staring at my reflection. The sun beamed down on me, I felt eyes on me. I turned around and saw the alpha. At this point he took my breath away. He had his shirt off, with only shorts on. His hair was wet. God! I never noticed how sexy my alpha was.

I was lifted off the ground in seconds, and shocks flew through my body. I was pinned to a tree in seconds.

"Mine!" he snarled, smirking. I groaned in pain, feeling as he pressed his body against mine. "Mate!" he growled. I looked up at him, seeing his brown eyes were now turning black. Wow, a possessive, alpha mate.

He smashed his lips onto mine, holding my hips. My wolf was howling in joy. I am so enjoying this!

We pulled away and he smiled at me. "I thought I was the only one who came here." I smirked.

"You thought wrong baby," he said, smiling.
