Grounded
Xavier's POV
I could feel how Maria was freaking out. Her voice was panicked and she had a scared look on her face. I frowned at how she was so scared. It was cute and she looked so scared, but I didn't want her to be scared. Even if the rogue's are coming for her. She was going to be safe no matter what. I stopped, at the cottage I told her about. She frowned, "Do I have to go here? I mean it looks, dangerous and scary."
"Yes you do. Go inside and lock the doors. When you hear someone knock on the door five times answer it. Diana will take good care of you while I'm out taking care of this. And please don't try to kill her, I know how much you don't like her now." I said.
"Diana?! Out of all people you picked her!?" she yelled.
"Maria go." I growled and she got out of the car with her bag. I was angry at myself for growling at her like that but I really didn't have a choice since she wanted to argue. I watched as she walked into the small cottage. I drove off after hearing the door lock.
Maria's POV
Diana? Out of all people her?
I walked around the small place.until I saw a room with a bed. The bed look unstable. In fact everything in this house looked unstable. Even the couch. It wasn't dusty or anything it was just, dirty. Like it had dried up mud on it. I heard five knocks on the door and I knew it was Diana. I opened the door and she walked inside without a word. I wanted to just rip her head off. She had golden brown hair and ocean blue eyes. She wore Jaces basketball jersey and some shorts which meant that they are seeing each other, still. He probably screwed her. What if he got herpes!? Poor Jace.
"Xavier says I have to be nice to you so how about we start a conversation?" Diana told me. I was shocked that she even said anything.
"How about we not talk?" I suggested.
She rolled her eyes, "Maria I'm -"
"Save it. You get anything you want don't you? Now you have Jace. Where is he anyways?"
"Home." she frowned. I rolled my eyes at her and walked to the living room. I sat on the couch and felt like going to sleep but I didn't. I am so grounded when I go bacbecause Mom won't ground me dad will and when dad grounds me it's not just a month it's usually three. I get my phone taken and I have to stay in the house. Diana came to sit next to me. I moved away though and she sighed deeply. "Are you seriously going to be mad at me for this?" she growled.
"Yes because I lose and you win! Jace was my closet friend and you ruined that!" I yelled making her flinch at my tone.
"Maria! Calm down." Xavier's voice growled in my head.
"Maria I'm not letting you be his friend because you're going to tear Jace and I apart."
"No I'm not, you're just jealous. You can have Jace. Of course I find him attractive but not in that way because I was saving myself for my mate."
"Really?" she asked and I nodded. "You're still not seeing him." she growled at me.
"I don't care anymore you selfish slutty bitch!" I growled.
"Yeah I'm the slut! At least I wasn't sleeping with the alpha you whore!" she growled back.
"I hope Jace rejects you." I hissed and she growled getting up from the couch and walking out of the living room. I rolled my eyes and then I heard the door open with Xavier's scent. I felt that same butterfly feeling in my stomach as I grabbed my bag and walked towards the door. He pecked my lips but I didn't kiss back which must've made him mad. I didn't care though. I went to his car and sat in the front. Diana and Xavier had a small conversation about whatever before they both came to the car. Xavier got in and then Diana did.
The car ride was dead silent. Nothing but the sound of the humming noise coming from the Jeep. Diana got dropped off first then it was my turn.
"What's your problem?" Xavier frowned.
"Nothing." I muttered getting out of the car. But, because this was Xavier it wasn't that simple. He pulled me back into the car and reached over me to close the door.
"I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong." he stated.
"What's wrong, well I now don't have any friends because of my old best friend's mate." I smiled.
"You have me." my mate smiled.
"Yeah I do. And I'm sorry for being a bad mate."
"You could never be a bad mate. You're too innocent." he said and I laughed. He smiled, "There's that laugh."
"Well, I have to go. Can't you just, order him not to ground me?" I frowned.
"No it just doesn't seem right. I can't do that even if you forced me." he said.
"I'm sure you would give in." I chuckled. He then leaned in and just as we were about to kiss I heard my dads voice yelling at me from the front door. I mentally cursed at myself and pecked Xavier's lips before waving goodbye. I got out of the car and he gave me lne last glance before driving away. I sighed and ran into my house. "Liangela Maria Ginnle you are grounded for the rest of your living life! You know how hard I work and you would pull something like this!? How could you! Go up to your room and stay in there!" he growled at me as I was walking into the house.
"Dad, I'm not grounded for the rest of my life. I remember you told me that you ran away from your home to be with your mate at my age. So when I do it, why are you so upset? You weren't yelling and screaming when you did it then, were you? No. You can't control my life ever. I'm going to my room. I'm not grounded and I will be seeing Xavier again." I growled back silencing him. I stomped upstairs and slammed my bedroom door. I was shocked to see Xavier on my bed.
"Why are you here?" I asked him, it didn't sound harsh at all. He narrowed his eyes at me. "I'm sorry I'm just not in the mood right now."
"That's not how you're supposed to talk to your dad. He's going to hate me and he's very disappointed in you. And who is Liangela?" he asked.
"My real name is Liangela but I don't like it so I go by Maria." I answered.
"Why? Liangela is a beautiful name. I think you should go apologize to John."
"What!? No! I'm not apologizing to him." I retorted.
"Maria yes you will. You're grounded. I agree with him." he said.
"Why aren't you taking my side? He's-"
"Never letting you out of his sight again. He's planning on putting cameras in the house."
"What? Where is my mom!?" I growled pulling out my phone. Before I could unlock it, Xavier took my phone away and stole the battery.
"At work." he answered my question. "Maria calm down. He's not grounding you forever." he told me.
"This isn't fair." I grumbled and he frowned.
"I'll be here everyday, with you. Well not everyday, I am still an alpha and I have business of my own. But right now I have to go."
"No," I frowned.
"I have to, Maria." he said in a serious tone. Before leaving, we had a total make out session. But then things got a little to serious and he left me coldly. I growled at him for teasing me.
I hurried and showered again before putting on my pajamas. I laid on my bed feeling so lonely. I looked down out of my window and was shocked to see Jace staring at me. He climbed a tree and sighed once he was in my room. Right now I really needed a friend. Jace and I sat in an awkward silence, before he spoke.
"Maria, I'm really sorry for the other day. It's just I was angry at myself for actually letting Diana do this to us."
"Yeah. I've been needing a friend by my side." I chuckled.
"I rejected Diana. To be with you. And I hope you feel the same way because I want you to reject Alpha Xavier." he whispered.
