Part 18: Too Slow

"Fucking idiots"

When the hell is he going to learn that not everything is as it seems.

I slowly and quietly follow behind  them trying not to be noticed. As we continue walking the air seemed to grow thick with tension. Suddenly Vasco stops behind a small almost broken building and took off his jacket. I lean on the building watching them silently.

"Leaving your jacket on? You'll regret that. You think this is a joke? Today we go all the way" I roll my eyes at the threat noticing how Daniel flinched when he said that.

C'mon Danny.

Vasco takes a very dominant stance and I watch the way his face contorts to one of rage.

"You're dead!" Vasco steps forward and takes a swing at Daniel.

He dodged.

As expected. I stare blankly at the two noticing the way both are standing and how reluctant Daniel is at fighting. He continues to take heavy swings at Daniel yet failing to get a good hit. Suddenly...

"What is his about?! What have I done wrong?!I've done nothing wrong!" My eyes widen as I stare at the two in surprise. I've never heard him yell like that...

"...the money you got from that lady...give it up"

...

I see the wheels turning in Daniels head as he processes what Vasco just said.

"No way. I will not give it up! No one steals from me!" He takes a stance. I look carefully and notice that it is just like Zacks. Kids been taking notes.

I stop leaning against the wall and walk towards them just as they start to swing at each other once again.

Short 3rd person

Members of the burnt knuckles walk up to an abandoned sight only to be met with a very surprising scene. Vasco was sitting on a cement block with his jacket over his shoulder holding a bruise on his side.

"Vasco? What happened?"

' I was about to land the blow but someone else intervened'

Y/n pov

I walked up to them right in time and him to the ground as hard as I could making a loud thump sound. He looks up at me mad and tried to get up. Tried. He didn't get to far because of how I swept under his feet.

I come a little closer and sigh pressing a particular part of is neck making his body go limp.

"I can't move!y-"

"Vasco. Shut up" I rub my head with to fingers and let out a small growl. Turning to Daniel and letting out a sigh.

"Daniel just go home...get ready for work. I'll deal with this dumbass" He slowly nods his head and turns away hesitantly. He slowly walks away making the ruble under his feet crunch with every step he took until he was completely gone. Once I no longer hear him I stand up and look through the rumble.

"Y/n what are you doing"

"Hold up" I find a big block of cement and drag it near vasco. He flinched a bit when I dropped it next to him. He looking at me like I was gonna hurt him boi I just don't want my skirt to get dirty.

"Chill i'm just gonna wait with you till you get feeling back into your legs" I slightly kick his foot making him grumble. I put my head in my hand and look down at him.

"So what was that all about"

"He took that ladies money and I wanted to give it to the boy from the convenience store."
I shake my head slightly making him look at me with squinted eyes.

"You know they are roommates right?" I cross my legs and roll my eyes. He looks kinda confused. I didn't take him to be slow...

"His mother came to visit him but because of store hours he sleeps at this time so instead of waking him up she decided to go with daniel to get some coffee to see how her son is doing"

"But he lied to her"

"Little daniel wanted him to. He doesn't want his mother to worry for him."

He looks like he's processing the information I just gave him. I slightly lead back and brush a hand through my hair.

"Look vasco you can't just jump to conclusions like that. Daniel is a genuinely nice guy and he wouldn't do anything like that so please just give the guy a chance." I stand up and start walking away.

"Hey where are you going"

"Home. I have to get ready to go work"

"I thought you were going to wait with me"

"You can move you were just to busy thinking to notice."I walked away slowly leaving him to his own thoughts. I look down at my phone and gasp.

"Frick I'm gonna be late!"
