"Ah an amaykano my first taste""I wonder if Daniel has tried this he would like it"
Y/n smiled slightly as she looked at the lady in front of her watching as she tried the drink. Beside her was Daniel but he was lost in thought at the moment. She shifted awkwardly in her seat and tried not to look to her side.
Y/n was pretty reluctant to sit next to him but couldn't say no to the little ladies wishes. Daniel looked down at y/n almost in surprise when she willingly sat next to him. He was sure that she was mad at him. From the corner of her eye she saw his stare and rolled her eyes at him.
"It's rude to stare," she brought the coffee cup to her lips before looking back at Daniel noticing that his gaze fell down to the table.
'yeah that's what I thought'
The lady sitting in front of them smiled widely.
"Oh and what's your name dear." She asked tilting her head to the side.
"Y/n nice to meet you ma'am" She simply answered.
"So you know my son?" This sparked Daniels interest. He took his gaze of the table and looked up at his mother in curiosity.
"Oh yeah we work together. Must I say he is very unique."she started off putting her drink on the table with a small clink.
"How so?"
Y/n looked up at Daniel before continuing.
"You raised such a kind guy. He is very caring and wants to improve himself. I'm happy I met him. I really hope he cherishes you, you seem like such a nice lady." His mothers jaw dropped and her eyes sparkled at the words that had come out of that girls mouth. She waved her hand in front of her and smiled.
"Oh look at my Danny getting such a kind girlfriend and a pretty one at that." the two went quiet as she said those words.Y/n went blank as she looked at the woman. Daniels face heated up in embarrassment and he frantically waved his hands to deny the statement.
"She's not his-"
"Oh thank you ma'am,"y/n smiled widely at his mother and cutting him off making him snap his head towards her with his jaw dropped .Daniel sat frozen at in his seat his face erupted with color at the thought of him and y/n together. Y/n looked over at him letting a smirk take over her face.
"Oh my Danny is all grown up. Please take care of him both of you. You seem like a great girlfriend I think you would do great for my son."
"Thank you ma'am"
For the rest of the time they were there Daniels mother went on and on about her"precious son" making Daniel grow embarrassed with all the things y/n was learning about his past. While y/n on the other hand thought it was interesting and frankly was a bit jealous. She saw the light in his mothers eyes and how happy she sounded when she was talking about him. Her eyes looked over the woman as she went on and on. She admired the woman for being such a good mother. Oh how she wished she had that.
Was this how parent were supposed to be?
Even if it looked like she was thinking deeply about something she listened to every word that came out of her mouth. Every fun memory was being listened to and appreciated by her.
Daniel looked at y/n while his mother kept talking and noticed how blank her eyes looked. She was nodding and smiling but it didn't feel like she was actually there. Facing his mother he noticed how proud she sounded when she was talking about him going on and on about how great of a son he was. It made him a bit disappointed in himself knowing he never realized it.
"Excuse me!Do you think I could take those boxes?" They both jumped at her frantic statement and looked towards the cashier that happened to be someone from their school.
"Uh sure we usually give them to someone else but I don't see why not"
Both of them froze when they heard what she was saying. Daniel froze because of shock from the situation while y/n almost felt like walking away at that moment. It's not that she had been disgusted or felt anything negative to that woman. It was just that she had to do the exact same thing.
"Ah thank you," she turned back to the teens in front of her and noticed their expressions.
"Please don't tell Daniel about this I don't want him to be embarrassed by me..."she brought a bill out of her pocket and gave it to them.
"And here thank you for looking out for Daniel. "
Daniel shakily took the bill and nodded trying not to break down.
"yes please don't worry"
y/n couldn't hold back at the moment. She jumped over the table and hugged the woman.
"Oh what's this?" she said surprise at the sudden attack. Y/n seemed to have noticed what she had been doing because she pulled back almost immediately a guilty look overtaking her face.
"Oh I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me"
"It's alright sweetie. Just please take care of him for me."
Daniel watched the exchange with a heavy heart. He really didn't know much about y/ns past but knew that this wasn't a normal reaction she has. He had already felt guilt because of his mother but now he felt sad because of how secretive y/n is and the fact that she isn't talking to him doesn't make it any better.
~time skip~
"Are you sure you want to go without seeing Daniel"
"yes it's fine I wouldn't want to wake him just tell him I stopped by."
"okay travel safe" They both watched as her figure walked away. Both of their gazes filled with worry.
y/n might have maybe given her a bit of money...yknow just a bit*cough*moving on.
y/n stared off with a distant look in her eyes.
"your mom is really nice" She said suddenly making Daniel look at her. He slowly processed her words and his eyes slowly widened in surprise. She looked up at him showing him her empty eyes.
"how-"
"hey newbie" Startled they both turn towards the new voice only to be met by vasco.
"I saw everything you punk. Step up you're out of line" Daniel started to panic as he started to walk away and quickly followed after him leaving y/n on her own. She stood in place and let out a sigh pulling her hood over her head riding up her sleeves.
"fucking idiots"
