Sam was finally back at his house after nearly 3 days of staying in close motels, trying to get to Dean. The letter Dean had given him still crunched in his pocket reminding Sam to read it.
He unfolded the piece of paper and had to control the urge to scream when he read it.

Theres something in this place with me. Do research on 'Castiel'. Have you found a way to get me out yet?

Great. Now not only was Sam expected to get Dean out, he had to stop him from getting killed by a supernatural creature. Sam sighed but immediately dug his computer out from underneath a mountain of paperwork.
As he turned it on and started researching. As Sam tapped on the keyboard, he couldn't deny how right it felt.

Dean went straight back to his cell after the visit with Sam. Cas wasn't there. He was probably around the facility because this was the time of the day they were allowed out for a few hours. Dean shut the door behind him and instantly sat down behind the door. That way he would know if anyone tried to open it and he could hide the letter straight away.

The many-times-folded paper made a noise that sounded too loud to Dean's ears as he smoothed it out.

Your hearing is in about 2 weeks to see if you're innocent or guilty. Ive checked out the facility and there's a small loophole in the security works. I'll check it out but we will have to meet in person sometime without all the guards and people listening.

Dean sighed and scrambled over to the bed, putting the letter down where the other one had been stuffed just as the door opened. Castiel walked blindly in, not realising how slightly shady Dean looked, and sat down on his bed.

"Dean, Dean, Dean." Castiel sighed putting his head in his hands for the second time in one day. "What am i to do?"
"Um..." Dean had no idea what Cas was on about. "Well whats going on for a start."
"Something has arisen." He replied gravely. "Its bad, might compromise the mission."

"Cas what even is this mission you keep talking about."

"It will make sense soon." Was all Cas would reply with and even though Dean bugged him for hours afterwards, Castiel stayed silent.

A few hours passed with Dean lying on his side facing the wall. There wasn't a lot to do in this place, everyone seemed to hate Dean because he was considered 'one of the worst'. And now even Cas wasn't talking to him.

Dean was lost in thought until the bed next to him squeaked. He turned over, being careful not to squeak his bed, just in time to see Cas slip out the door. Dean couldn't reign in his curiosity and slipped out a few seconds after the blue-eyed boy.

Cas trailed down the metal, opening-facing corridors, his feet soundless and no matter where Dean looked, he couldn't find Castiels too-big shadow. Dean scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. Dean spied his own shadow which indicated that Cas should have one.

Anyway, Cas had stopped at a cell and with a careful look over his shoulders at the corridor, he stepped in. Dean saw all this from behind the wall at the corner. Who's room was that?

Dean was just contemplating on going up to the door when a white light started seeping out the bottom. Soon black smoke started to follow it out and all the light was instantly concealed. Dean didnt know a thing that could emit that much light but he knew demon smoke when he saw it. And soon enough Cas came out, looking furious and briskly walked the opposite direction Dean was in. Cas's too big shadow had returned.

°°°

Cas arrived back in the cell a few hours later, his anger worn off from when Dean had last seen him but his features were still grim.
"Where have you been?" Dean asked, wanting to hear what Castiel had to say before doing anything brash.

"Fixing things." Castiel waved his hand vaguely and turned around to face his bed. Dean had unsheathed the demon blade and it lay under his pillow, close at hand just incase.

Dean couldn't help himself about what happened next,
"What are you?" Dean said quietly and Castiel froze. That was all Dean needed and his heart clenched as Castiel turned around. Just before Dean sank the demon blade into his heart.

All Cas did was tilt his head, a circle of blood spreading on prison jumpsuit. Dean walked back a few steps in shock as Cas pulled the blade out and it dropped to the ground, the blood sticking to the floor.
"Wha...what are you?" Dean couldn't keep his eyes of Cas and the silence grew between them.

"Im Castiel. Im an angel of the lord."

"Get the hell out of here" Dean was still staring at Cas. ""There's no such thing!"

"This is your problem Dean." Cas lowered his head slightly. "You have no faith."
"If you really are what you say you are, prove it." Dean retorted, walking a bit closer to Cas now.

Cas only stared back at him but little did Dean know that all Cas was thinking about was the pair of fan fiction green eyes infront of him.
"Very well."

Cas stood up straight and the lights for the room flickered, each time they spluttered the massive shadow behind Cas grew and split into 2 unfurling wings. They brushed the top of the cell and Castiel's eyes glowed blue. Dean was in awe but then the lights suddenly turned to normal and Cas's wings were gone.

"Why are you here?" Dean asked

"To complete a mission." Cas vaguely replied before sitting on his bed. "To free Dean Winchester."

"Why me?" Dean questioned again, sitting next to Castiel on his bed.

"The angels have big plans for you but things are here for you. Creatures that want revenge on the infamous Dean Winchester."

"Why cant you just zap us out or something if you're an angel?"

Castiel shook his head. "Someone put powerful warding on this place, cutting even me off with heaven and trapping me in here."

Dean sighed.
"So we're stuck."

Castiel shook his head.
"You and your brother will get you out." He replied simply.

Dean had nothing more to say. He didnt know whether to believe Cas completely. It all rested on what Sam brought back about the name Castiel and on whatever Dean's dad had got about angels.
