Amaya never knew that crying could also be felt very good. Her eyes were filled with those tears she didn't want to push away. Those were the tears of contentment and joy, streaming down her cheeks and leaving the trails of contentedness behind.
Amaya couldn't help but look at the man in front of her with her blurry vision, her emotions and feelings crystal clear. The more she looked at the man dressed in his usual black and white attire, the more she found him handsome and... loveable.
Even though he could easily read her answer in her eyes, in her tears, in her movements and postures, Rishaan still waited patiently for Amaya's response with a huge, warm smile playing on his lips.
Speechless was such a small word to describe Amaya's state because she was touched in a way she had never been before. She searched for better words to say but couldn't find any. Finally, not having anything to say, she forwarded her shaking hand and nodded her head twice at Rishaan in between her tears and smiles.
That was it. Just a single nod, a single signal, a single approval.
Not wasting a single second in second thought, Rishaan slipped the diamond ring in Amaya's finger. Her fingers were shaking and so was his hand. Maybe it was nervousness, or maybe it was the excitement of new beginnings.
The moment Rishaan got up, Amaya threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, never wanting to let go of him. He was surprised at first but deep inside he had kind of imagined a possibility like that too. He stroked her hair and pulled her a little more closer than she already was and kissed her hair. She hiccuped against his shoulder and he rubbed her back gently.
"Hey, you okay?" Rishaan asked her sincerely in such a low voice, pulling apart from her by holding her shoulders gently. He was genuinely concerned about her.
Amaya's nose and cheeks were red from crying. She sniffed and nodded her head, her eyes meeting the ground beneath her feet. Rishaan brushed a strand of her hair and tucked it behind her ear, making her look up at him. She stared at him, admiring the softness in his eyes that were glistening in light. She dropped her gaze again, afraid she'd ruin his beauty if she stared any longer.
"Amaya," Rishaan rested his forehead against hers and closed his eyes as he spoke in a low voice, his hot breath teasing her skin and sending shivers. He didn't wait for her to respond and continued, "I have something to tell you," He made circles on her cheek with the pad of his thumb. "I... I just want to tell you that... that you are precious, you... you are important." His voice started to shake as he began to speak from his heart, his words starting to disappear while forming a sentence. "Ever since you entered in my life, it... you have..." He breathed out heavily through his mouth, slightly pulling away from her, disappointed with himself. "I don't know what to say." He closed his eyes tightly shut, mentally cursing himself for forgetting everything he had prepared to say at the end moment.
Rishaan hated it when he couldn't put his feelings and emotions into words. He had always been good with words and this was so unusual for him. It was frustrating. Having no other option, he just went with broken sentences and words to convey his feelings.
"My life was so... dark, very dark, sure there were stars, points of light, but then you came. Suddenly. Unexpectedly. Like a sun," Amaya couldn't help but look at Rishaan as he said the latter part, her eyes filling with tears again. "And set my world on fire, with your brilliancy and beauty." He opened his eyes and they met with her teary ones instantly. "I don't know how different things would have been," He continued, shrugging his shoulders slightly and looking right into her eyes. "If you had never come into my life. But I'm happy," He took a pause to compose himself as his voice cracked and eyes filled with tears. "I'm happy and grateful that you came, that you are a part of my life." Amaya smiled with a small nod and a tear rolled down her cheek. "Words would never be enough to thank you for what you've done for me, Disha and my family. I can't even imagine how–" He couldn't complete what he was saying. He pulled a little away and looked down, letting a tear to roll down his cheek.
