One For Love, One For Hate

Leo's POV

You want to know what sucks more then not being able to find your boyfriend?

Iris Messaging your boyfriend to try and see if everything is okay, and watching him kiss his old crush.

Hazel and Jason are still with me here in Bunker 9, and they saw it too.

"Have fun fucking around with your new boyfriend Nico!" I yelled into the Iris Message, I waited until I saw his shocked expression before I swipped my hand through the mist.

Nico had tried to Iris Message me two more times, each time I put my hand through the image.

"Hazel, this is all my fault isn't it?" I asked, turning around to face her.

"N-No Leo." Hazel walked over to me and hugged me tightly, I didn't hug back.

"I'll take him back to my cabin Hazel, you should probably contact your brother." Jason put a hand on my back and started to lead me out of the bunker.

"W-Wait." I said. I turned around and walked over to my desk looking for the small object. I found it under a large stack of unopened letters. I picked the letters up as well and went back to Jason.

"I don't know if you want to read those buddy." Jason tried taking the letters out of my hands, but I wouldn't let go. He sighed and continued walking.

"Jason can I use the bathroom?" I asked as we got to his cabin.

"Ugh, yeah sure." I walked in, and walked right into the bathroom, locking the door.

I looked down at all the letters in my hands. They were all from Nico. A letter a day. I looked through them at all of the dates, there was one for each day of every month since I've been gone. There was a letter from December 24 sitting on top, yesterday.

Dear Leo,

I can't remember your smile anymore. I've been drawing a picture of you for a while now, and I just can't get your smile right. Come back and smile for me please. I've been clean this entire time, I thought you'd be happy to hear that. It's hard not having you here to hold me when I need you. I just want to see you again. Oh, when I was helping put the Christmas tree up, I had to put the star on top and Jason and Percy told me to climb the tree to do it, so I did. I ended up falling and landing on them. I wish you were here to see that. I also learned who Santa is, he sounds like a total creep. I know you would be making tons of jokes about Santa the pedophile right now. Everyone is excited for tomorrow, not me, but Hazel is really excited to give me some present that she thinks will make me so happy. Anyway, I miss you and I'm starting to cry so it's making it hard for me to write. Merry Christmas, see you soon.

I smiled slightly at how girly his handwriting is. I read another letter from October.

Dear Leo,

I had a nightmare last night, the worst nightmare ever. When Percy came in to keep me calm, I wanted it to be you holding me, so I pretended that Percy was you, and that you were right there with me. I miss your warm hugs. I haven't talked to anyone yet, I don't know when I will, everything still hurts. I have to go, Hazel wants me to eat something today.

I grabbed the small object from the stack of letters and held it in my hands. Why did he get so mad at me if he missed me so much. Maybe it was all just a lie.

"Leo? Are you okay in there? Its been 20 minutes!" I ignored Jason.

"One for love, one for hate."

I continued saying that over and over again until I had his name carved into my arm 10 times.
