Chapter 2

MISAKI

I finished singing with a smile on my face but was startled when a blond haired and blue eyed boy started clapping "you are really good" he complimented "thanks but who are you?" I asked recognizing him as a vampire because of his white uniform "oh how rude of me, I'm Hanabusa Aidou and you must be Misaki Cross, am I correct?" he asked and I nodded slowly "you know Misaki-chan... it's really dangerous for a girl especially one who has hardly been here for a day to be in a place like this where anyone can take advantage of a beautiful girl like yourself" he said pinning me against the tree thankfully my hands were free "w-what are you talking about vampire?" I asked trying to stop stuttering "oh so you know? Interesting, then you must also know that you smell really delicious" he whispered licking my neck, 'shit he's going to bite me' I thought so I grabbed my artemis gun and pressed it against his head "leave me alone, I don't wish to donate any blood to you, besides you'll regret messing with me" I said hiding the fear in my voice "oh really?" he asked amused. I was starting to shake in fear when all of a sudden Aidou was yanked off of me by the garnet eyed boy from earlier who was now wearing beige trousers and a black shirt but the buttons were undone revealing a toned chest and I quickly turned away "can you put that away please? It dangerous to our kind" the brunette asked and I put artemis back on my belt after some hesitation "as for you Aidou, how many times do I have to tell you to behave?" he continued growling and Aidou's eyes widened in fear "Kaname sama I apologize" Aidou said with a trembling voice "get back to class now" Kaname added causing Aidou to run off and then Kaname turned to me "I apologize on behalf of my fellow classmate, I'm Kaname Kuran" he said extending his hand "it's alright, I'm Misaki Cross, you must be Yuki's brother" I said looking at his face while shaking his hand and he nodded. I looked anywhere but at his chest and he looked confused but looked down and buttoned his shirt quickly after he was done his eyes stopped at my necklace and his eyes widened and all of a sudden I was pinned against the tree but he caught my hands while putting pressure causing it to hurt because of my injuries "where the hell did you get that necklace from?" he growled "why do you want to know?" I asked and he growled tightening his grip "I asked you a question" he said in a low dangerous voice "this necklace was all I had when I woke up 11 years ago, I have no memories before the age of 4 and when I woke up this was around my neck and I felt that it was connected to my past, now can you let go of me?" I said "sorry, but you have no memories from before the age of 4, where did you wake up?" he asked in a demanding voice "in the middle of a blizzard, a vampire attacked me but I was saved by another vampire with mismatched blue and red eyes" I said and he growled "what do you want to know all this for?" I asked "nothing, I'm sorry, good night" he said and left before I could say anything.

KANAME

I was in the forest using my familiar form of a black wolf when I heard singing, I listened to the beautiful voice singing but then I smelt Aidou 'what's that idiot up to?' I thought while transforming back into human form wearing my clothes but forgot to button my black shirt. I followed Aidou's scent to see him going to bite a girl but she had an Artemis gun pressed against his head 'good serves him right, wait isn't she the new girl and... she's a guardian?' I thought but yanked him off of her "can you put that away please? It dangerous to our kind" I asked her and then turned to the idiot "as for you Aidou, how many times do I have to tell you to behave?" I asked him growling and his eyes widened in fear 'good' "Kaname sama I apologize" Aidou said with a trembling voice "get back to class now" I said watching him run off and then turned towards the girl 'she looks familiar' I thought but shook it off "I apologize on behalf of my fellow classmate, I'm Kaname Kuran" I said extending my hand for her to shake "it's alright, I'm Misaki Cross, you must be Yuki's brother" she said shaking my hand and I nodded 'Yuki' I thought but was snapped out of my thought when I noticed she looked anywhere but at me while a light blush colored her cheeks and I was confused but looked down realizing that my shirt was open revealing my chest so I quickly buttoned it up 'she's kind of cute' I thought... WAIT WHAT? I looked up at her but my eyes stopped at her neck where a silver chain with a red diamond rose hung 'that's exactly like the one I gave to my Misaki' I thought and then I lost my calm and pinned her to the tree holding her hands so she doesn't try anything but I could of sworn I saw her slightly flinch "where the hell did you get that necklace from?" I growled "why do you want to know?" she asked and I growled tightening my grip irritated "I asked you a question" I said in a low dangerous voice "this necklace was all I had when I woke up 11 years ago, I have no memories before the age of 4 and when I woke up this was around my neck and I felt that it was connected to my past, now can you let go of me?" she said and I realized that it was the exact same year Rido attacked our family but I had to make sure "sorry, but you have no memories from before the age of 4, where did you wake up?" I asked in a demanding voice "in the middle of a blizzard, a vampire attacked me but I was saved by another vampire with mismatched blue and red eyes" she said and I growled, why did that bastard do that? I was supposed to save Misaki because I was the one who was in love with her, the chairman must know about this yet he said nothing "what do you want to know all this for?" she asked "nothing, I'm sorry, good night" I said and left before she could say anything to the chairman's office, my love was alive and I tried to forget her by forcing myself to think of Yuki as my lover. I burst into the chairman's office seeing Yuki and Zero there as well but I could care less "why didn't you tell me that she is Misaki Kayuki Kuran?!" I bellowed slamming my hands on his desk and he looked shocked because no one ever saw me so angry before "did you just notice this?" Yuki asked and I nodded shamefully "the one girl I loved in that way, I was forced to forget her thinking she was dead when she was there alive and worst of all, that bloody bastard Rido saved her when it was supposed to be me! Why?" I asked on the brink of a breakdown "Misaki seems to have gone through some physical torture because she was scared that we would hurt her and I heard her crying although there are no evident marks" Yuki said and my eyes widened when I remembered she flinched when I touched her "I'm going to kill whoever hurt her" I growled "unfortunately, they are already dead" the chairman explained and I looked at him confused "the longest she has been in a foster home is for 2 years before her guardians are murdered but the killer leaves absolutely no traces" the chairman explained and I nodded "Misaki is not to know about who she really is until I transform her, now please excuse me" I said walking out "I will protect you no matter what" I whispered to myself as I headed to the moon dorms but the thought that ran through my head was how did Rido save her, I chopped him into a thousand pieces and even if he got his shadow to do it then why did he let her live? He could have been revived without any problem since Misaki was a powerful pureblood like me and I thought he was obsessed with mom? Then what was the meaning of all this?

*Misaki's POV*

'Those vampires really need to go to a medical institute' I thought, thank god Yuki isn't like her brother who I think has multi personality disorder. I walked around a bit but stopped when I heard my name being called "Misaki!" someone who I presumed to be Yuki yelled so I followed the voice and saw Zero and Yuki looking for me "hey" I said smiling "hey, you okay?" Yuki asked and I nodded "no you're not, I smell Aidou and Kuran on you" Zero stated "what happened?" Yuki asked looking genuinely worried "nothing" I said because I wasn't sure how they would react but they just glared at me "Misaki Kayuki K-Cross, spill" Yuki said and I sighed "nothing really, I was in the forest then Aidou popped out of nowhere trying to suck my blood then Kaname popped out of nowhere saving me from Aidou who had me pressed against a tree then he introduced himself but then he saw my necklace and pushed me against the tree yet again and demanded to know where I got it from and how I lost my memory etc. etc. then just apologized and walked off" I said as if it wasn't a big deal more like it was the most casual thing that ever happened to me but the truth was I was scared out of my wits because I was really afraid of vampires but didn't show it "that bloodsucker was at it again" Zero sighed and Yuki looked at him with a look like 'what did you just say?' "What? I said I'll try being nice to the night class and I am to your brother but I still don't trust the others especially not around family" Zero said "you know I love you" Zero added nervously "yeah, of course" Yuki said and I laughed which earned me a confused glance "nothing you two are just a really cute couple" I explained and they blushed "I guess we are" Zero said "you guess?" Yuki questioned 'Zero's done for' I thought "no I meant we are" Zero said saving his life and Yuki smiled "just joking" she said laughing at how Zero was getting flustered "meanie" Zero said pouting which made Yuki kiss his cheek causing him to blush heavily "I think I've seen Zero blush a thousand shades of red today" I said and Yuki started laughing and Zero's blush deepened "whatever, let's patrol one last time then call it a night, if you can call 4 in the morning night" Zero said grumpily "Imuto-chan, if you don't mind can you turn around for a bit?" Yuki asked and I looked at her confused but then understood when she quickly winked at me 'oh, she wants to kiss Zero, how sweet' I thought as I turned around and I could almost hear how shocked Zero was. After about a minute or so Yuki said I could turn around, which I did and saw their red faces and I slightly giggled unaware of a certain vampire watching me from the shadows, we went and patrolled one last time to make sure everything was alright and started heading to our dorms "your quite lucky, nearly every day Zero and I would encounter a night class fan" Yuki said "in fact, I was worried that you might also be a fan girl" she continued "oh no, I never was obsessed for anything much less a person, I believe that everyone needs their space and besides from what I see the vampires attending Cross Academy are quite good looking but that doesn't mean that I would just go all 'KAWAI!' over them" I explained "oh good! At least some girls have their head on the right track" Zero complained "yeah, yeah, Mr. grumpy go get some sleep" I said as we stopped at the boy dorms to drop Zero off and he scowled "goodnight, onii sama" I said while walking over to a tree facing the night class so that Yuki and Zero can say goodnight to each other as I thought about my encounter with the vampire called Aidou and how I nearly blew my secret, the one secret that my most loving family told me to keep, the secret that changed my life forever, my secret is... that I'm an... but I was snapped out of my thoughts by Yuki "hey you okay?" she asked "yeah, I'm fine just a bit tired" I said quickly putting a smile on my face to reassure her that I was fine and she nodded then we started walking to our dorms "goodnight nee-san" I said as we reached our dorms "goodnight Imuto-chan" Yuki said. I walked into my room and changed into a blue pajama pants along with a loose white long sleeved shirt, and after brushing my teeth I went to bed and my last thought before I fell asleep was... 'I wonder what tomorrow will be like.' That was the first night I slept without a nightmare.
