Sometimes there is no real answer, no real reason but just a feeling, an emotion that cannot be described, be it an accumulation of a hundred and one things combined or a singular event, but in the end, the weight of the world felt like it's sitting on his shoulder, invisible chains on his neck and legs weighing him down.
Outwardly, a smile is always present, he is always the mood maker in a group, always depended on to make someone else smile or happy. But had there been anyone who cared the same for him?Anyone who cares to know the true him? During days like this, and these days felt more often than good days, a question lingered on in his mind.
Is life worth living?
To be honest, that question never have a positive answer to date. His brows furrowed, a deep sigh let out. Something cold touched his cheek, jerking him out of his deep thoughts. He looked at the taller man in front of him who held out a cold bottle of water to him with a small smile. He accepted it with a nod as the older sat down next to him. Singto didn't initiate a conversation as he started to read through his script and Krist didn't feel the need to start one, somehow the stoic demeanour of the other didn't make him feel obliged to talk.
Somehow they fell into this routine within a week, both sitting side by side memorizing their respective lines in comfortable silence. One third through filming period, Singto start bringing two cups of iced coffee to these sessions. Halfway, if it's a morning filming session, one will bring breakfast and if it's a afternoon session, the other will wait for one to have lunch together. That evolved to one who will send the other to his rented apartment after a shared dinner, discussing how the day had went and how they could have done better during filming. Towards the end, days started with a good morning text and nights ended far too late with both lingering on the phone. What is this direction they are heading? Both of them never spoke on it, but both wordlessly falling into this familiar routine.
During the thank you party to celebrate the end of the filming, Krist stood in a corner, unlike his usual self which is being in the center of attention. His eyes automatically looked out for someone, a someone who is running late given he is coming straight from school.
Somewhere along the journey, the weight felt lighter, was it having someone to share this with? No that's not true, it's not that he is needy and need someone with him 24/7. Somehow it's just how the older had evolved to be an essential part of his life, bringing that little bit of calmness to the constant storm he is in, how he had infused himself into Krist's life. And now when the three months-long filming had finally ended, what's next for them?
That night ended not unlike any other nights, one sending the other home, both of them lingering on the phone but the one difference was the elephant in the room, what happens tomorrow when there is no filming to bring them together? The unspoken question turned sour in Krist's mouth as his eyes stared up at the dark ceiling long after they hung up as night turns to day.
No good morning text arrived and none was sent. Krist released a sigh, his hand tapping on his phone, his mind whirling with dark dark thoughts, one that he haven't missed a single bit. The tightness in his chest wind a little tighter as his shoulders felt heavier.
A text message arrived, his hopes rised and plummeted when it was from his manager letting him know that his clothes for the upcoming interview later that day was already on the way to him.
A soft knock on his door finally drew away his attention from his white ceiling, alerting him to the arrival of the delivery guy. Pushing the door open, his eyes also widened.
Singto stood there, their breakfast in takeaway bags with two cups of iced coffee in his hands. Singto smiled and Krist returned it, somehow this signifies a step to something more for both of them.
