Damien was still pacing back and forth as Roger typed furiously on his desktop. After a while, Roger finally leaned back with a frustrated groan. "Nothing?" Damien asked.

"Nothing is coming up, man. Whoever this is, they're too smart." Roger tells Damien. Damien ran a hand through his hair.

"Damn it. This is too much. I need to find out who this is." Damien tells Roger. "I need to know who's going to spill my secrets." Damien tells Roger. Roger glanced at Damien.

"Miss Tiny knows nothing about your past?" Roger asked. Damien glared at Roger.

"Of course not! Pumpkin is innocent and she doesn't need to worry about my past misdeeds." Damien tells Roger.

"I hope you know what you're doing, Damien. She may be hurt by your secrets." Roger tells Damien.

"Hell, just knowing me is putting her in danger. I'm an evil man, Roger." Damien explains to Roger.

"And, yet, you would drop everything for her?" Roger asked with a smug grin.

"She is my roommate, Roger. Of course, I would drop everything for her. My job isn't even important to me, but I have to take care of her." Roger simply nodded his head, but he didn't believe Damien.

Damien was a very powerful man and he only bends to Pumpkin. Roger knew this, but he didn't say anything because he knew that Damien is only trying to protect Pumpkin.

"So, what's the plan?" He asked the dark haired man.

"We wing it." He answered simply, getting ready to go.

"Who's 'we'?" Roger asked.

"Obviously, you, me and Babydoll." Damien tells Roger.

"Can my daughter come? She's a great shot." Roger asked. Damien thought it over.

"A rifle?" He asked.

"Anything I've taught her." He answered.

"Load her in the car as well. We'll need firepower." Damien tells Roger.

"Alana, come down with your rifle! We're taking a trip!" Roger called up to his daughter.

Alana came down obediently. Damien sighed and he realized that he would have to convince Pumpkin to come with him. "How will I convince her to come?" He asked.

"Gag her." Roger says, smirking at Damien. He will never agree to that. He thought. Damien glared at Roger.

"I disagree." He told Roger and Alana rolled her eyes.

"Dad, of all the things to say. Mr. Damien, you can just tell her that it's a important trip and that you won't leave her alone at home." Alana suggested to Damien, who thanked her for her smart answer.

"Your daughter has more sense than you do, you nut." Damien tells Roger, who simply smirked at him. He was always a nut. He couldn't be the one who sent me the notes. He doesn't even know where I live. He's my best friend. Damien thought.

The group went onto Damien's car and he drove back to his apartment. When he got there, to his horror, the apartment door was broken down. With anger and worry coursing through his veins, Damien grabbed his hidden pistol and he ran into the apartment.

As he walked through the broken glass, he saw a picture of him and Pumpkin, with him not smiling, of course, torn apart. Pumpkin's side had been taken and Damien recognized that picture from anything. "Pumpkin!" He shouted, hoping that his tiny and plump roommate could hear him.

She could and her muffles directed him towards her location. When Damien finally found her, relief ran its course on him. He carefully trailed towards Pumpkin and he pulled the gag off of her. "Are you alright?" He asked. She whimpered and Damien untied the ropes to hug her. "I'm sorry. I left and this happened." Damien says, running back outside to get in his car.

He placed Pumpkin in the car and he drove off, not noticing nor caring that two people were glaring at him. Damien drove off to an empty house.

As he parked the car, he rubbed his face with his hands. He turned towards Pumpkin and guilt ran through him. Tears were on Pumpkin's cheeks and he gently wiped them off. He never wanted her to get hurt by his mistakes and messes. "A man came by and even though I tried, he busted down the door. When he saw him, he started speaking. I didn't understand him as he had some a mask that muffled his voice." She spills to Damien without him even asking what had happened.

"Did you see what he looked like?" He asked. He almost had something.

"No. He kept himself in all black. I couldn't even make out his eye color." Pumpkin tells Damien, making him frown even deeper. Nothing! I got a suspect, but nothing decent to figure out who the hell is he is! Damien thought in frustration. "I'm sorry, Damien." Pumpkin tells Damien.

In that moment, Damien changed. He hugged Pumpkin. "No, it's not your fault. Someone touched you with the intent to hurt you. When I find out, they'll pay." Damien swore to Pumpkin. Pumpkin smiled, despite her tears. She didn't want to risk Damien's life just so he could protect her.

"Don't worry about me. I'm fine being around you." Pumpkin tells Damien, who didn't know how to answer her. I'm at a dead end with no useful clues! He thought. Damien was getting irritated. He needed answers and no one was providing them!

Answers were the only way that he could save himself from a horrible fate that he didn't want at the moment.

He had a short stack to take care of.
