Chapter 12 - i killed someone (Part 2)

Alana become very concerned when Pumpkin started to scream and cry. She held onto her very tightly as if she was trying to keep Pumpkin from hurting herself. "I killed him!" She screamed out. Alana was shocked at the news. She couldn't believe it. Knowing Mom, it was probably an accident. Alana thought as she held onto Pumpkin to ease the pain of her first kill. She knew that she and Dad were going to protect Pumpkin from going to jail. It was a self-defense kill, but she knew that the crooked police will arrest anyone who does anything against the law. "I killed him," she spoke more softly this time around and Alana kept Pumpkin in her arms. She petted her and she felt strange for comforting her mother. 

"It's fine, Mom. You killed him in self-defense. Hell, I know Dad will probably kill whoever tries to put you in jail," Alana comforts Pumpkin in the best way she could as she never had to comfort another person before. She doesn't even know how to comfort Damien on his worst days and he recently had a worst day when Pumpkin was hurt and kidnapped for the first time. 

When Pumpkin had calmed down, Alana and Pumpkin had continued their journey towards Damien as the man had a car waiting for them so they could take Roger to the hospital so he couldn't die just yet. When Alana saw Damien's tall figure, she called out to him. "Hey, Dad!" Hearing his daughter call out to him, Damien turned to see that Alana had successfully did her secret mission, which was to save Pumpkin from any further harm. His eyes also darkened when he noticed that Alana was carrying an unconsciousness Roger. He roughly grabbed him and lifted him from her shoulders and tossed him into the back.

"Hey, careful with the back seat. I have to seat back there," Alana told him with a sharp tone and growl in her voice and Damien knew that she was tired and not in the mood. 

"Sorry," he spoke quickly as Alana crawled into the car. Pumpkin eyed Alana for a moment and she then she turned her attention to Damien, who lifted her into his arms.

"Esmeralda, my baby. Did he hurt you?" Damien asked Pumpkin, who smiled at how worried and protective Damien was over her. She laid her head on his chest, grinning at how happy she was to be finally reunited with her lover. 

"No, he didn't hurt me," Pumpkin spoke to calm him of his anger for the moment. Damien lifted Pumpkin's chin and he claimed her lips with his as they shared a passionate kiss. As Damien pushed his tongue gently into Pumpkin's mouth, Pumpkin closed her eyes to feel the burning passion she had for Damien. However, when she closed her eyes, she also saw the body of the man she killed and she panicked. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," she whimpered. Alana recognized the signs of Pumpkin panicking and she felt bad for her mother. 

"Mom, the kill was in self-defense. No one can hurt you anymore," she called out to Pumpkin. As Pumpkin heard the worried voices of her lover and child, Pumpkin returned to the land of the living as she glanced at Damien.

"Baby, did you have your first kill?" He softly asked her, making Pumpkin nod her head. 

"I used a steel ruler. I cut Roger to, but he was probably mostly damaged by the bullet," Pumpkin tells Damien and he hugged her closer to her, wearing a sad smile. Esmeralda underestimates herself too much. He thought as he held her. When Damien put Pumpkin in the seat behind him, Roger shifted and Alana bashed him upside his head. Damien glanced back at Alana as the young teenager was huffing.

"He moved," she simply said, causing Damien to roll his eyes. 

When they arrived at the hospital, Damien called the police and told them everything, although he did omit certain details. The doctors didn't want to treat Roger, but because Damien didn't want him dead, they did what he wanted them to do.
