Chap 17: The Rival and The Bullies

I ran.

I looked behind at the darkness. The sounds were getting closer!
Beads of sweat rolled down from my forehead as I huffed for breath.

I looked around as I run..

I was literally sprinting in the dark woods! I hopped over the little brook that glistened in the night. The interrupted fitful waters reflected my pale flushed face. I ran faster feeling my heart toppling over my chest.

'Look out Mel!' A voice alerted me. I tumbled down tripping over my oversized black hoodie and landed on a marsh. And, now my clothes soaked wet mud.

I heard the wolves howling around in the forest. I tried getting up but my feet refused to obey my commands.

'Hoot.. Hoot..'

I jerked my head up. My eyes abruptly sprang open. I gasped and stared into the bulbous eyes of a giant owl sitting on the tree, right above the slush I had just slipped into.

'Run.. Run' it hooted.

I clenched my chest. I panicked.

Suddenly, a loud gun shot pierced through the air in the darkest night.

"Melody!" the red haired girl smiled at me as she lifted me up when I heard another gun shot again.

'Are you all right? '

"Mm" I nodded with hearing my own heart beating more vigorously as the girl holds my hand and runs along with me.

"You ain't getting anywhere, princess" roared the shadow with a huge gun.

I closed my eyes trusting the girl take me on her way and clutched my chest. My heart couldn't pound even more faster.

The gun shots become louder when my shoulder split open it's blood.

"Mel!! "

I immediately dropped my pace and fell on my knees clasping my wounded shoulder.

The girl tried to help me but the shadows grew larger that she ran leaving me alone in the woods.

"RURU!! Don't go!" I screamed when a big jute sack falls on me and before I knew it, I completely lost my consciousness.

'Mel! Mel, Are you alright?'

'Wake up! Melody' I suddenly felt a violent shook over my shoulder.

Immediately squeezing my eyes open and I found myself lying in my bed. I looked around and flickered at the table lamp that had lit up our entire room.
I blinked admith the dim yellow light and I inspected myself staring at the shocked and frightened of my friends.

'Yeah...i think...' I smiled meekly.

'Well, you, sweating like a pig.. I know that you are not. You are most definitely not'

'What happened, Melody?' they wanted to know.

I rubbed my head and scratched my hair.

'Did I wake you guys up.. again?..' I changed the topic.

'That isn't something to be concerned about right now..'

'Here' Crystal handed me a glass of water smiling kinda nervously. as I looked at the two them.

Sunny and Crystal's face mirrored their feelings regarding my weird nightmares. They were worried about me and I knew it. But, we do know that there is nothing we can do about it.
