Chapter 9

Aaron took me to his house where I met his brother a long with some of the guys from the other day.

"So this Nathan kid wants you to hang out with him and his friends?" Cameron asked.

"Yeah I didn't wanna say no because I didn't wanna be rude."I said.

"Or do you just really like him." Cameron said. Aaron gave Cameron the death glare for whatever reason.

"No to be honest he seems like a douche." I said.

"That's because he is." Aaron said.

"Well luckily me I have you to save me from him." I joked.

"Oooh Aaron's gotta date." Cameron teased.

"Shut up!" Me and Aaron said at the same time.

"I'm just gonna invite her over so she doesn't have to hangout with that jerk." He said.

"And what are you gonna do?" Cameron asked.

"I don't know." Arron said.

"Mmhm." Cameron said. After that we all just hung out and had a good time it made me forget about Nathan I'll be honest I really don't care what me and Aaron do as long as I'm not hanging out with Nathan I'm starting to think I could've made up some lame accuse as to why I couldn't but no I felt the need to be polite.

"Hey guys I gotta go." I said.

"Bye Meghan!" They all yelled.

"I'll walk you home." Aaron said.

"So when does Nathan wanna hang out with you?" He asked as we were walking.

"Tomorrow at 2." I said.

"Well I'll come pick you up at 1:30 and bring you back kinda late that why he won't try to ask you out." He said.

"Why are you helping me get out of this" I asked.

"Isn't that what best friends are for." He said.

"Best friends?" I ask.

"That is if you wanna be." He said.

"Yeah. Best friends." I said. We then got to my house as I saw my mom open the door.

"Hi Aaron." She said.

"Hi Mrs. West." He said.

"Oh hey Meghan did you wanna hang out with me tomorrow?" He asked and I knew exactly what he was doing.

"Yeah sure." I said.

"Aren't you hanging out with Nathan?" Mom asked. "He told us when he got back he even asked for you dads permission that might be rude to cancel on him." She added.

"He'll understand." I said.

"Sorry but I think you should go." She said.

"It's alright maybe another day night Meghan night Mrs. West." Aaron said.

"Night Aaron." I said.I then went up to my room to see Aaron climbing up the ladder.

"Your dad still hasn't put this ladder away?" Aaron asked.

"Would you rather he did?" I asked.

"Nah I don't mind." He said. "Sorry I couldn't save you from Nathan." He added.

"It's okay I'll just have to deal with him." I said.

"Promise I'll sweep you off your feet after." He said.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise." He said.

"Goodnight Aaron." I said.

"Goodnight Meghan." He said climbing down the ladder. After he left I laid down in bed thankful that even though I had to hang out with Nathan Aaron would do something special for me. No one really ever did that to me. I wondered when Aaron gave Cameron that death glare when he asked if I had a crush on Nathan was that because he liked me? Did I like Aaron back? What about Nathan why would he ask my dad if we could hang out? I let these thoughts go and but my earphones in and listened to princess of china by Coldplay.
