Cousins

Lauren's Pov

Selena and I were on the living room watching a movie while drinking our fifth bottle of beer.

"So what happened?" Selena asked and I looked at her.

"What do you mean?" I asked. She looks so serious.

"What happened to you? What happened to the sweet innocent girl that I always save from bullies back in middle school?" She asked with sincerity in her eyes.

"Why are you asking that question?" I asked and she averted her gaze from me to the bottle of beer she's holding.

"I don't know.. maybe it's the alcohol talking." She said smiling

"Well.. she died" I said and she looked at me again.

"She didn't die.. she's still there. Sometimes I see her when you're not acting so tough" She said staring deep into my eyes.

She caught me off guard. I didn't know what to say.

"I'm not acting anything.." I said

"Come on.. you can tell me anything" She said scooting closer to me.

"Why are you asking these questions?" I asked scooting away from her.

"Just.....curious" She whispered

"You're always curious" I said giggling

"So what is it?" She asked

"What is what?" I asked and she scoot closer to me.

"What made you change so much?" She asked

"I-I don't know" I whispered

"Of course you don't.. but I know" Selena said smirking at me.

"So what made me changed?" I asked and she smiled.

"I think it's your defense mechanism...you were bullied so bad in middle school and now you're the one who bullies people. I can't explain it well but you get it, right?" She said and I nodded.

"Wow... you're smart" I said and she giggled.

"So I'm right?" She asked raising her eyebrows

"Maybe" I said smirking at her.

"Stop smirking" she whispered staring at my lips

"Why?" I whispered back

"It's hot" Selena whispered leaning in.

"Are you tryna kiss me right now?" I asked making her stop.

"Isn't that obvious?" She giggled

"I'm your cousin" I said and she smiled

"Yeah but I'm like your fifth or sixth cousin. So, you have your cousins, and then you have your first cousins, and then you have your second cousins..." She said making me laugh.

"Oh my god.. you did not just say that" I said and she laughed.

"Yes I did...so are you gonna kiss me now or what?" Selena asked scooting closer. I was already on the end of the couch so I can't scoot away anymore.

"You're kidding right?" I said and she shook her head no.

"You're drunk" I said and again she shook her head no.

"I know what I'm doing" she whispered

"My parents are upstairs" I whispered and she giggled.

"There's the Lauren I know" Selena said making me smile.
