I remember a time
When stars were my lullaby
I also remember a time
When the sun would scream in my faceOne time I hoped
The moon would wrap me in comfort
One time I also saw
The night sky reach out for meThis is true, that tears
Turn raindrops into saltwater
This is also true, that
Water could surround me in soothing hugsAnother time I chose to sprout wings
And flew from those choosing to restrain me
But in reality, I could only wish
That my imaginary wings would one day be wordsSome people say your legs could take
You anywhere you want
But I say wings
Are much easier to get around on
