Freshman year came around quickly.

It was a year after Blake's first kiss. It was hard to act normal around Reese for about a month or two after the party, especially with Nikki constantly reminding them and showing him the video she took. High school would be awesome, he passed his exams to get into a private school in the lovely city of San Francisco.

Blake woke up early for his first day of high school. He spent most of his time preening in the mirror, when his sister did this for her first day he found it annoying and vain, but now he could completely relate. He sighed as he looked in the mirror, he was lean and with light muscles, he wasn't the tallest guy, five foot nine. He flashed a confident smile at himself before thudding downstairs for a quick breakfast.

His mom was at the counter making smoothies while his dad read the paper silently, his reading glasses perched on his nose. "You ready for your first day?" His mom asked with a smile as she handed him a banana-strawberry smoothie.

He feigned nonchalance, "just another day at school."

She beamed with pride, "Andrew, our baby is already in high school, can you believe it?"

Dad didn't look up, "yes, dear."

Checking the clock, Blake gulped down his smoothie and wiped at his mouth, "by mom. I'll see you tomorrow, I'm going to Reese's house after school."

"Be good and tell Reese I said hello." Blake grabbed his satchel and slung it over his chest as he ran out the door and hopped on his bike. His sweater wasn't thick enough to protect him completely from the cold weather, late August, it was cooling down and chilled in the mornings.

The sun was rising on the city and people were driving to work. A couple streets down, he caught up with Reese who was on his longboard, his hands in his pockets and his headphones playing music from his Walkman. Blake cut across the street and cruised alongside him.

Reese was growing up well, his blond hair was longer and tied back in a bun. He was a couple inches taller than Blake and just as absentminded as he had always been, but girls still tripped over each other to talk to him.

"Hey, man," Reese nodded his head, shouting over his music. They glided past the school gates, to the bike racks where Blake locked up his bike and the longboard, Reese was scolded for riding it around the courtyard during orientation.

Reaching into his pocket, Reese pulled out a blue sucker and popped in his mouth like a pacifier. Around seventh grade he became addicted with suckers and carried a bag in his satchel and some in his pocket. Speaking around the lump of sugar, "lemme see your schedule."

Without warning, he reached into Blake's back pocket and pulled the yellow paper, comparing it with his own. "Any classes?"

Reese tucked it back into Blake's pocket, things like this stopped bothering him a while ago. After the kiss, Blake would jump at each little touch, but that was just Reese. He didn't regard it as weird, after all, this guy made out with him and didn't think anything of it.

"Gym, maths, English, biology, and history. I don't have you for culinary and Spanish."

Dory walked up and nudged his way between the two, "good morning!" He towered over Blake and was an inch or two taller than Reese, slinging his arms around their shoulders with a grin, "you shapin' up for soccer try outs?"

Blake snickered, "are you going to be able to block any balls this year?" Dory smacked the back of his head. "Get off me man, you reek."

"Fuck you, man. I smell good."
