After that little bout of humiliation, the show went on.
Gabe sipped his water, there was no way he was drinking with a bunch of strangers. He begrudgingly admitted that he did like the band, they were energetic and got the crowd to jam out with them, granted the crowd was drunk off their asses.
Archie looked like he belonged up there, it was like the attention was his caffeine, jumping around revving up the audience. Gabe whooped loudly and he saw Archie grin at him and blow him a kiss. He was such a character.
During their break, Archie was at the bar with Ian and Alex doing shots while Percy, sipping her beer, sat with him monitoring their stupidity. "Gabriel! You should drink with us!"
"I'm a minor." Seeing Archie's puppy dog eyes he sighed, "Back at the hotel."
He perked up and wrapped his arms around Gabe happily, "Yay! We're almost done with our set." Archie's breath smelled like vodka and he planted a sloppy kiss on Gabe's cheek, Gabe made a disgusted face and wiped off the slober, pushing him off him.
Break was over and a slightly drunk band got back on stage but they were still awesome. Getting off stage, they signed merchandise and shook hands and took photos. Gabe didn't really pay attention last time but they seemed to have a pretty good fan base and got booked at pretty social places for their shows. Girls especially clung to Archie and Alex, Ian looked too broody and sulky like he just took a gulp of vinegar.
Archie was back at his side, clinging to him as he stumbled along. "You guys should stay!" One of his fans said touching Archie's arm.
"Nope!" He popped the 'P' and snuggled Gabe like a stuffed animal, "There's a hotel room calling our name!" Gabe turned red and dragged Archie outside with him.
"You need to sober up, where's the hotel, I'll drive."
He smiled, "no need, our hotel is right down the street."
Gabe sighed and let Archie lean on him as they walked, Archie stumbled a little and tripped over his feet. Walking with a drunk, shirtless person covered in body paint wasn't nearly as fun as it sounded. By the time they got to the hotel, Gabe was wearing half of Archie's body paint on his left side.
The receptionist gave them a funny look when Gabe checked them in, their room was on the fifth floor and Gabe dumped him like a sack of potatoes with a tired huff. Archie looked up at him and laughed giddily.
Gabe glanced at the crisp white sheets on the bed then at their black body paint and nudged Archie with his foot, "go take a shower, you're filthy."
"Are you gonna join me?" Archie asked with the look.
"Good God, no! Go take a damn shower."
Archie stood up and kicked off his boots, his socks, stripped his pants and boxers. Gabe shrieked, he was completely naked and completely shameless. "What's wrong?"
He turned around and Gabe got a full frontal view and he covered his eyes with his hands. "Just go!"
He was laughing, "what gay guy doesn't like a hot, drunk, naked guy?"
Gabe froze and removed his hands, what did he just say? "Excuse me?"
"What?"
"You called me gay."
"Aren't you?" He looked confused. Gabe felt all the blood drain from his face and he felt sick to his stomach. He went to the bedside and picked up the phone, "who're you callin'?"
"Dory, he'll come pick me up."
"Don't call your boyfriend!"
Gabe snapped, "he's not my boyfriend! Get your ass in the shower, I'll be gone by the time you get out."
