The Numbness I Felt

Chapter 10

May I ask one thing, just answer in the comments. Why is it that almost every love story I have read involves a hospital is it like an untold rule or something.
Ok to the book.  Also I should mention I probably am going to add a few triggering moments in the next few chapters.

I wake up to a phone call.

"Hello it is like 2:00." I say tiredly.

"Hi honey sorry for waking you up." My Mom says.

"What is wrong, why did you call me?" I ask.

"They canceled school because the storm and we hope it isn't bad enough that we can get home." She says.

"Ok goodnight I am tired and text me next time please." I say.

"Ok night hun and I will." She says hanging up.

I put my phone back and lay back down. Carter nuzzles back into my chest and I smile. I slowly start to fall asleep when I heard someone.

"It is only a matter of time." The voice giggles.

"Let us play a game." Another says.

"Now we shall have some fun." A more masculine voice says.

"No we must wait to strike." A raspy voice says.

"We must have patience so no one finds out." A soft voice says.

That is when I fall out of bed and realized did fall asleep but I had a vision. Carter got up to check on me. I then feel him grab my hand and he helps me get up. Before I can speak he hugs me.

"Are you ok V?" Carter asks.

"I should be fine but I think I just had a vision." I say worried.

"Oh what happened?" He asks.

"Just voices nothing important." I lie.

"Ok if it is just that but be careful." He says as we lay back down.

I rub his head slowly as he puts it on my chest. I know as long as I live there is nothing I won't give for him to be safe. He fell asleep quickly and i fell asleep a bit after.

Rose's POV

I loved knowing my brother was happy with Val. From what they know they did it themselves, but I may or may not have possessed my brother and altering his memories so they would get together. I mean between the denominational plane gets boring and i know that someone is watching. Everyone is being watched one way or another, but I mean in a book the forth wall would crumble I love that sound. I wonder if they could do it maybe but then again i may be young, but I a bit crazy I hate spirit puberty because it is painful and annoying and useless. Welp hopefully I can help them when needed maybe even if one of them is in trouble i can almost fully appear to normal people without using photos or reflections only.

Back to Val

I woke up seeing carter was gone and my alarm blaring I turn it off and look outside to see that the umbrella in the backyard has only its tip showing. It snowed so much that we are actually trapped in at least we have stocked up food. I walk downstairs to see something I didn't expect. Carter was cooking pancakes, French toast, and sausage and he hadn't noticed me so I snuck up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist making him yelp. (Ironically I said in my choir room quick tell me some breakfast foods)

"Holy shit!" He yelped.

"Morning Pup." I say smiling.

"Don't scared me V and breakfast is almost ready." He said in a sigh.

"Fine I won't try and scare you again." I say crossing my paws.

I set the table for Carter while he finishes breakfast. I wait for a bit before he brings out the food. We conversed and ate our food and I decided to do something for Carter. After finishing I grabbed the dirty dishes and started washing them. I was surprised the pipes weren't frozen to be completely honest. I washed the dishes, yet when I was done Carter was gone. I walked down into the basement to no avail, but then I walked upstairs and then I heard him. He was talking to someone over the phone.

"Sorry I am Stuck in a friend's house." He said knowing we didn't want to tell anyone except our parents and siblings so far, "Yeah I mean that is a good idea maybe we can meet up soon," the person talks for a bit, "Yeah at the Panera when we can get out sure," I start to become worried, "Ok Love you bye." He finishes.

I walk off to the bathroom and lock the door behind me. I just curl up into a ball and question if he really loves me. I look through some draws to find a razor. I pull up my shirt and cut the word FOOL into my stomach. I grab a bit of gauze and wrap it up also wrapping the word FAILURE and a few other cuts. I clean up some of the blood on the floor and on the razor and put the razor back quietly. Pain felt amazing to me right now and I needed pain I had a thirst for it. That thought made me want to cut more, but if I bleed out I wouldn't feel pain again. After I was finished cleaning I unlocked the door and walked out and towards my room. When I walked in Carter was there on my bed sketching something.

"Hey V." He says smiling.

"Hey." I say faking a smile.

"Come sit next to me." He pats the spot next to him.

I sit next to him and look at what he is sketching. I see that he sketched me from a photo with my family. I put my head on his shoulder and let my ears flop over. Carter then sniffs the air.

"I smell blood." My only thought was Fuck.

"I mean I don't know why you would." I said nervously.

"I know for a fact I smell blood coming from you." He says grabbing my shirt and pulling it up.

"I can explain." I say before he can lecture me.

I love to mess with emotions tbh so don't me surprised if it gets crazy. I love to write this to me it helps with stress that I have. I also may or may not have given Val and Carter some of my personality and things me and a few people do like depression spikes. Welp see ya
