Platonic Bros (or not)

((A/N: AU where Tom and Tord live in America, I guess? Because there are a lot of American pop culture references here that I doubt anyone will enjoy but here we go))

~Tom's POV~

Edd and Matt aren't home. Not that this is unusual. It's just that they're not here, leaving me with The Commie. 

I try to stay in my room for the majority of the night, but after a while I get thirsty. Therefore, I venture downstairs where he lurks.

I try not to talk to him. Really, I try! But Tord is watching Friends, and I live for that show. So I fix myself a glass of water in the kitchen and join him on the couch. 

For the most part, he keeps his eyes on the TV, and the fact that he's not acknowledging me makes this all that much more awkward.

So we sit there in silence and watch Phoebe sing 'Smelly Cat'. 

The Smelly Cat episode has got to be my favorite. And Edd's. Oh God, He sings that song all the time--

"No one tells Edd about this." Tord hisses at me.

"Got it," I nod.

The show goes to commercial and Tord goes all fan-girly on me. "So who's your favorite character?"

"I can't choose just one." I grin at him.

"Well, I like Joey," Tord admits.

"'Cause he's hot?"

"What? No... You think he's hot?"

"A little, yeah. He's got nothing on Nick Robinson, though."

"Nick Robinson...THE GUY WHO PLAYS SIMON SPIER!!" Tord jumps.

I keep my eyes glued to the television screen advertising titanium cookware.

"Tom, is there something you'd like to tell me?"

"I think you already know."

"Um, no, I don't." He gets real close to my face, making it extremely hard for me not to look at him. "So you're gay? Bi? Pan? Homoromantic asexual? Panromantic homosexual? Homoromantic Pan--"

"TORD."

"What?"

"I'M FREAKING GAY, TORD."

"Oh." He leans back on the sofa. Like, really far back. Uncomfortably far. It freaks me out even more when he smiles. 

"What?" I ask.

"I'm a Panromantic homosexual," he says.

I smile at the floor. "You're kidding."

"I swear to Simon Spier."

"Now, that's serious."
