[Chapter 14] : I'm Sorry

You have calm down a bit after Eiji tried to comfort you. You're now sitting next to Griffin's bed as you looked at him. "I'm sorry.. I should've saved you beforehand.." you said and hold his hand gently. Griffin was still sleeping after the surgery. An old man suddenly open the curtains and looked at you. Eiji told you that the old man is Ash's personal doctor. "he is Dr. Meredith" you remembered Eiji's voice

"if I have to guess, you are Ash's girlfriend am I right?" Dr. Meredith suddenly asked. You jumped a bit at his statement and blush. You looked up at him. "oh, no no sir! I'm.. I'm just one of Ash's friend" you said nervously trying to hide your blushing face. The old man turn to look at Griffin. "I see.. Then you must be close with him.. since you can remember his face and know Griffin is his older brother right away" Dr. Meredith said then turn to looked back at you.

"what's your name miss?" Dr. Meredith asked. "I'm (y/n), pleased to meet you" you said then bow your head. "I see.." Dr. Meredith said then turn to looked at Griffin. "Ash is a very smart boy and have sense of responsibility. He always look after his men.." Dr. Meredith spoke again. You then turn to look at Griffin.

"..Ash really is amazing.. I can see that in him.." you said quietly and smile a bit. Dr. Meredith then turn to look at you and smile "you liked him don't you (y/n)?" you jumped a bit then looked at Dr. Meredith. You blush from his statement then motion your hands "oh, no! No! It's.. It's nothing like that!" you said as you laughed nervously. "you can't fool me (y/n), I know you liked him. Ash's a good boy and it's okay to like him that way.." Dr. Meredith said and smiled at you.

You then looked down at your knees. You stay silent for a moment then you realised, "maybe you're right Doctor.. I.. I really do liked him.." you said and smile. Dr. Meredith smiled back at you then open his mouth once again "I'm sure Griffin would love to meet someone who looked after his little brother like you.." Dr. Meredith stated.

You looked up at Griffin and smiled weakly. "thank you Dr. Meredith.." you said quietly. Not a moment after, Dr. Meredith open his mouth "well (y/n), I'm going to check on Griffin a bit. So I need you to wait outside for a while" he said. You nodded then went outside.

You closed the door behind, suddenly the door in front of you slide open "oh god! (y/n), are you alright?! " Ibe ask worriedly then quickly went closer to you. Eiji followed him from behind. You were surprised and quickly looked at Ibe "uncle?" you called. "where have you two been?! Gone a whole day without even a word! I was scared to death! I thought they'd kidnapped you both again! " Ibe said angrily as he holds you by your shoulders and shakes it.

You close your eyes at Ibe movements then look up at him "we're sorry uncle. We didn't mean to make you worry" you said weakly. Ibe expression softened a bit as he let go of your shoulders "I'm just glad you both were safe.. What happened actually?" Ibe asked.

You then looked at Eiji. Eiji looked at you then turn to looked at Ibe "follow us" Eiji said. All of you then went to the room where Griffin at. Not long after, Shorter stand beside you. He looked at you and smile. You smiled back at him weakly then turn to look at Griffin.

"who is he?" Ibe ask. You stay silent and just stare at your feet weakly. Eiji look at you for a moment then open his mouth "he's Ash's older brother" he said. Ibe quickly turn to look at Eiji as he sweated a bit. "what?!" Ibe ask. Eiji look down at his feet with a sad expression on his face ".. it's my fault, that Arthur's men shot him" Eiji said then you called him "Eiji.." he look at you and smile "it's alright (y/n).."he said quietly then continue"I didn't know someone was following me and lead them here.. And we can't take him to a hospital or the mafia will find him" Eiji said.

"mafia?" Ibe ask the Eiji turn to look at him. "we found out who Banana Fish is. The thing Charlie told us about" Eiji said. Suddenly Shorter open his mouth "why don't you tell him what you told us, Doctor" he said. Dr. Meredith nodded and say "sure".
