[Chapter 10] : Promise

It's been two days after they sent Ash to the prison. You and Eiji have been spending time with each other in the apartment. Finishing the work you all started while Ibe is busy meeting with Charlie.

You don't have the information you've took from Ash at the bar before. You've lost them in the incident but you do remember every single words he told you. It was weird for you at first but you ignored the feelings and tried focus on your work.

Sometime, it bothers you because you keep thinking about Ash. You think about him almost all the time. You stare blankly at your paper while remembering something.

- Two Days Before -

"please take care of yourself for me". Ash's eyes widened at your words. He then turn away from you and smile to himself. You found yourself puzzled by his complacency. You just stare at him while waiting for him to respond.

"I never thought someone would be worried about me this much" Ash said still smiling. There was a moment of silent but then Ash call you out "(y/n).." you jump a bit. "ye-yes!" you said nervously. He then turn to look at you.

"if I promise you to take care of myself for you, will you promise me that you'll wait for me no matter what happen?" he ask quietly. You were surprised at first but then you smile at him sweetly. "I promise" you said confidently.

Ash turn away as he lay his body down to the pillow behind him. "then we both makes ourselves a deal huh (y/n)?" he said then turn to look at you with a smile on his face. You giggle a bit then open your mouth "I guess we did" you said. Then both of you laugh at each other.

- Current Time In The Apartment -

"our promise huh Ash?" you thought to yourself while smiling. Eiji then comes from behind while holding a cup of coffee. He was walking toward you then take a seat next to you. He stopped for a moment and stare at you. You were holding a pen as you stare blankly at the paper in front of you.

"(y/n)?" Eiji called. You didn't answer him. "(y/n)?" he called again while putting his hand on your shoulder making you jump. "uh! What?" you said then quickly turn to Eiji "oh! Eiji.. um, sorry about that.. " you said as you laugh nervously "um, You were saying?" you ask.

"(y/n), are you alright? You didn't look so well lately.." Eiji said with concerned paint all over his face. "uh, Me? Haha! Yea, I.. I'm fine" you said nervously. "what's got into me? Oh god.. " you thought to yourself.

Eiji just stare at you for a while. He then put the coffee next to you. "you've worked so hard (y/n). You should take a break" he said. You turn to look at him as smile at you "thank you Eiji" you said smiling at him.

You then stand up from your chair and went to your room. "oh my god, I really need to stop doing this. I need to focus!" you thought to yourself again. You didn't focus on your way then suddenly you bumped into someone. It was Ibe "(y/n)? Watch where you going. You might get hurt" Ibe said as he hold you by your shoulder.

"uncle, I didn't see you're coming. How long have you been there?" you ask nervously. "I just came. (y/n), are you alright?" Ibe ask. "I'm fine uncle. Thank you.." you said while looking down at his feet. You noticed Ibe had brought some groceries. He was about to pick the stuff then you decided to help him "let me help you uncle.." you said then suddenly Eiji called from behind "(y/n), is everything alright there?" you saw him walking toward both of you "Oh! Ibe you're back!" he said happily. He then look at the plastic bags Ibe was holding "oh, let me help you with that"

"thank you.. " Ibe said as he went to the sofa and sit on it. "have you both eat?" Ibe ask. "we did. Are you hungry? I can cook for you if you want" Eiji said. "I just ate with Charlie" Ibe said as he close his eyes and lay down on the sofa. You giggle a bit and bring him a cup of coffee. "here you go uncle" you said handing him the coffee. "thank you (y/n)" Ibe said then take a sip of the coffee "oh yes! Charlie ask me to bring you both later. We're going to visit Ash".

You were about to go to your room but stopped at Ibe's words. You then turn around and peek on the door "I'm sorry uncle, what did you just say?" you ask excitedly. Eiji look at you and giggle a bit. "we're going to visit Ash, (y/n) " Eiji said then take a seat next to Ibe. You smile then went closer to Ibe and put your hands on Ibe's knee. "really uncle? We're going to visit Ash?" you ask happily. Ibe jumped a bit then look down at you as you flash him puppy eyes.

He laughed at your temperament and say "I see you're happy to visit him (y/n). Do you like him?" Ibe ask while smiling at you. You blush at his statement then pouted "uncle! It's not like that!" you said then turn away from him as you pouted. Eiji and Ibe just laugh at you.

- In The Visitors Room -

"uncle Max!" you greeted him happily "woah (y/n)! You came! I'm happy to see you again" Max said. You went to hug him "Thank you for looking Ash out for us" you said as you smile at him. His then smile weakly at you "yeah.. About that.." Max said then he quickly turn to look at Charlie "Charlie, can I talk with you alone?" Max said again "sure, let's go over there" Charlie said as both of them went to the table across the three of you.

You all were waiting for Ash. Then you saw Ash coming from the door. "ASH!" you shouted as you run towards him and hugs him tightly. Ash jumped a bit at your sudden move then hugs you back "hey there kitty, I'm glad you came" He said while still holding you in his arm. You look up to him "kitty? where did that come from?" you ask playfully. You both then smile at each other. You take Ash's hand and went to the table where Ibe and Eiji at. Ash take a seat next to you.

Not a moment after, Eiji open his mouth "how are you doing Ash?" Eiji ask while smilling at him. "good. Thanks for coming, Eiji" Ash responded happily. "I was glad to hear you wanted to see me.. After what happened to Skip.. " Eiji said sadly but then cut off by Ash "hey now, what are you saying, dummy? Japanese people really do think so strangely!" he said as he stand up and went closer to Eiji then put his arm around Eiji's shoulder.

You and Ibe sweat a bit as you both just stare at them. "oh Ibe, I heard you're still taking pictures. How are my guys?" Ash say. You then turn to look at Ibe "actually about that, it's dangerous to get close and.. it seems like Arthur's the one leading the gang now" Ibe said as he look down at the table. "I see.." Ash coldly responded.

Ash then turn to looked at you. "(y/n), did you take pictures too?" Ash ask worriedly. You were about to say something but Eiji cut you off "it's too dangerous for her, so I decided to tell Ibe not to tag her along with that job" Eiji stated. You look at Ash and nodded. "I see.. " Ash said as he take a seat back next to you.

"so how was the reports going? I think you've lost the information due the incident that day.." Ash said. You were about to answer him but get cut off again. "You know you can ask me again if you wanted to" Ash then said sarcastically. You then look up at him angrily

"hey now! Don't you dare take me lightly Mister! I'm a professional. I don't have to depends on the information I take! I can remember them easily, okay?" you said angrily as you pouted and turn away from him. "oh, really?" he said playfully.

You stare at him annoyingly. "shut up! " you said. He then put his hand on top of your head as he smile at you "I know you do" Ash said. Ibe and Eiji just smile at both of you. Eiji then start talking to Ibe as you and Ash have the world of your own.

Then something came up your mind. You turn to look at Ash "hey Ash.." you called out quietly. He then turn to look at you "yeah?" he responded sweetly. You smile at him and ask him,

" do you still remember our promise ? "
