[Chapter 17] : Goodnight

Shorter has asked one of his men to take the guy away. All of you stared at the guy while Shorter's men dragging him away. "please! Please, dont kill me" you heard the guy said. Shorter went closer to all of you then Ash open his mouth "let him go after he talks" Ash said. Shorter then respond to Ash a bit annoyed "huh?.. still acting like the good saint? when will you-" Shorter about to say then Ash cut him off "I'm just saying he isn't worth killing! It'll just make more trouble" Ash said coldly.

"why not? Why don't we settle it once and for all? Arthur thinks he's some big shot now you know? and from my opinion we really gotta stop him" Shorter then stated. Ash stayed silent for a moment. You looked at Ash and you saw him looking at his feet "I want to know, whether you know or not what happened to my brother's body?" Ash asked. You were surprised at his question then turn to look at Eiji and Shorter. "nobody came to pick it up. So it's still at the coroner" Eiji then speak up.

"I see.." Ash muttered quietly and stopped for a moment. "now that I'm on the run, he'll be chucked in a public grave huh?" Ash said again sadly. You looked at him and saw his face. He's face showed him that he was in pain and about to cry. You went closer to him and take his hand gently. He was surprised at first then turn to looked at you. You smiled at him and you both locked eyes. "it's okay Ash. You know I'm here if you needed someone to cry on." Ash then smiled at you sweetly "thank you (y/n)" he said. Ash's calm down a bit then turn to looked at Shorter coldly.

"you better back out now, Shorter. I'll settle this myself" Ash said. Shorter jumped a bit at his statement then quickly open his mouth "what the fuck Ash?! like hell I will! You can't do anything alone!" Shorter said angrily. "this is my problem and it doesn't concern you" Ash said again making Shorter burst out of anger "you Dumbass! It is my problem too! Arthur's killed enough of my guys already! And if you go alone, you'll just be killed and die for nothing! You know that? Won't you want to get any revenge for the guys or Skip?" Shorter stated seriously.

Ash then stayed silent for a moment. You just stared at him then Ash opened his mouth once again "Fine.." Ash said annoyingly then smiled at Shorter. "Let's do this together, Shorter" Ash said and and smiled then hand his hand to Shorter. Shorter smiled back at him "that's the spirit" Shorter said happily then to the two of them do the hand thing. "now we need somewhere quiet to figure out a plan. The cops are currently lounging around my place aaand....." Shorter said then quickly turn look at both you and Eiji.

You both jumped a bit then looked at each other. You both then turn to look back at Shorter and just stared at him in confused "Ibe was there too!" Shorter then went closer to Eiji and put his arms around Eiji's shoulder. "..My sister told me everything. I heard what you did, Eiji. That was sick. You even drag (y/n) into it!" Shorter said then laughed like an idiot. Eiji just stare at him still confused. "sister?" Eiji asked then stopped for a bit then continue "wait! She's your sister?" he asked again. Shorter then let go off Eiji's shoulders and looked at him "well yeah.. And so what if she is? Hey! You're the one who started this and that's all you can say?" Shorter asked annoyingly. Eiji sweated a bit then both of them start arguing with each other.

You just stare at them and giggle a bit. Suddenly you saw Ash start walking somewhere. You walk towards him "Ash, wait!" you shouted. Ash slowed down a bit allowing you to catch up to him. You both then walk side by side as you looked at him "where are you going?" you asked. Ash looked down at you and respond "looking for a place for us to sleep together tonight?" he said with a smirk on his face. "oh.." you said and nodded.

Not a moment later, you realised what he just said then quickly turned back to look at him "wait, wh.. What?" you asked nervously. Ash laugh at you then put his hand on top of your head and rubs it "I'm joking kitty" he said playfully then focus on the road. "unless you want to?" Ash suddenly said again and glance at you. You blush at his statement and turn away from him trying to cover your face. "cu..cut it out Ash! that's not funny!" you said nervously. Ash then laugh again "..you're cute (y/n)" Ash said and take your hand and intertwined it with his. Your were surprised at first then look up at him. "let's go!" Ash said smiling at you. You smiled back at him then both of you walk together.
