[Chapter 9] : Take Care

"do you think Max will be able to help us?" you ask looking at Charlie in front of you. You all have arrived at a place where Ash will be taken. "I'm sure he will but first, we need to make sure he'll give us a hand" Charlie said while looking at you. "does this always happen?.. I mean being sent to prison without trial?" Ibe ask crossing his arm."it's legally possible, but rare" Charlie stated.

Eiji was staring at you but then turn to look at Charlie. "what's going to happen to Ash?" Eiji ask. "well.." Charlie trying to talk but cut off by a man who's approaching you all from behind "yo! Shunichi!" the man greet Ibe. "Hey Max!" Ibe said and quickly stand up to greet him back. "it's been so long time!" Max said while hugging Ibe "haha! You're such an idiot ending up in prison!" Ibe said then both them laugh at each other. You just watch them having time a good time with each other.

Suddenly Charlie stand up from his chair in front of Max. "What's with the long face Charlie?" Max ask. "I need to have a word with you Max. Please sit down" Charlie responded. They then turn to look at both of you and Eiji. Max take a sit next to you.

"oh, who might they be?" Max ask look at both you and Eiji with a smile on his face. "Max, this is (y/n) and Eiji.. (y/n), Eiji, this is Max.. He's an old friend of mine" Ibe said introducing you both to Max. "Nice to meet you Mr. Max" you said then both you and Eiji bow your heads together. "oh! Don't be so formal with me. Please, just call me Max" Max said while putting his hand behind his head.

"(y/n) is (f/n)'s daughter.. She's been living with me since and she's also now my assistant" Ibe stated while looking at Max. "oh my god! Really? You're (f/n)'s daughter? I can't believe I would meet you here today! You can call me uncle Max then! Since I heard you're really young from your father" Max said excitedly "you really are beautiful like your father always said" Max stated while smiling at you.

"you knew papa?" you ask. "yeah! I know him very well tho! That guy! He always talk about you non stop. He even shows us one of your photo" Max said and laugh a bit. "really? You must be really close friend with my father. I'm honor to meet you" you said politely then smile at him.

"Max" Charlie called then all of you turn to look at him. "what is it?" Max ask. "we need your help" Charlie said with a serious expression then continue "we need you to guard one of our member. He'll be sent here tonigt and he's one of Golzine's precious kid. He's in our side. A teenage boy. We are worried he might get killed by one of Golzine's men in there. They're many of them"

"wait, what? Guard who from Golzine's men? Are you crazy? I have a hard enough time looking after my own ass here! What can I do against those rough-housers with my delicate arm?!" Max exclaimed while swinging his hands. Sudden Charlie hit the table with his hand and respon to Max "I know, but we need your help!". Max then put his hand at the back of his head and say "yeah but-" Max tried to talk but then cut him off by Eiji "Please sir. He had saved our lives and we will never ask more than that". You look at Eiji then quickly turn to look at Max.

"we're sorry for troubling you uncle Max, but we really need your help. That's the only way we can make sure Ash's safe. So please, I'm begging you. Please guard Ash for us" you said then bow your head. Max look at you then turn away while cupping his hand under his chin and think for a while. All of you were staring at him. Not a moment later, he look at all of you and say "okay okay.. fine, I'll help".

Your eyes widened as you smile happily while looking at Eiji and Ibe. They were smiling at you. You turn to look at Max and bow your head once again. "thank you uncle Max! We owe you! Thank you so much!" you said happily. "(y/n), hey now, enough with the bowing" Max said as he raise his hands my his shoulder and wave it. "anyways, his name is Ash. He isn't just some hoodlum. Don't take him lightly" Charlie said.

- In The Hospital At Night -

"(y/n), are you okay?" Eiji ask while handing you a cup of tea. You jumped a bit then look up to Eiji "oh, Eiji! Nothing actually just... after meeting uncle Max.. " you stop for a while then look down at the plastic glass were holidng and continue "it makes me think about papa.. And I think uncle Max is one of papa's friends that he want me to meet with".

Eiji put his hand on your back and say "I think so too (y/n)" Eiji said while smiling at you and continue "I'm happy that you've finally get to meet one of your father's friends.. and I hope you can be happy too".

You didn't look at him. You're still staring at the plastic glass "I guess I will" you muttered quietly. You then stand up on your feet and went to the door next to Eiji. "you're going to see him?" Eiji ask. "yeah. I guess I need to tell him to at least be careful right?" you responded. "yes (y/n), take your time" Eiji said still looking at you. You were about to open the door but then stop.

"Eiji.." you called quietly ".. Thank you for always been there for me.." you whispered. You voice was soft, comforting almost. You then turn to look at Eiji and smile at him. Eiji's eyes widened a bit but then smile back at you and nodded.

You open the door. You noticed Ash was facing the window. He then turn to look at you."(y/n), you're here. how did it go?" he ask. You went closer to him and take a seat next to his bed. "it was fine Ash. How are you feeling? Getting better?" you ask smiling at him. "yeah. I feel much better" he responded.

He was smiling. You then turn to look at the window. "the sky sure looks pretty at night huh?" you ask then Ash turn to look at the window. "yeah" Ash responded.

You turn your gaze to him. You stare at him quietly. He's still facing the window. Both of you stay silent for a moment. "look Ash. I wanted to tell you something about yo-" you tried to say but cut off by Ash "(y/n).." he said looking at his hands and stay silent for a moment.

"about that night.. When you ask me about the girl they've been talking about.." He say quietly. You just stare at him waiting for him to continue. "I'm sorry for saying those things to you.. I didn't mean it.." he said avoiding your eyes. "it's just-" he tried to talk but you cut him "it's alright Ash. I understand" you said and smile. "you can tell me when you're ready, okay?" you said again.

He turn his gaze to look up at you. You were smiling at him as he stare into your eyes making you blush a bit. "well Ash.. umm... I actually wanted to tell you about them putting you in prison" you said nervously. "I know.." he said as he put his hand at the back of his head and stare at the wall

"I think it's better for me to be in there then stay out here" he said confidently. You frown your eyebrows and responded "I think you're missing the point here Ash. There're so many bad guys in there and you also might get killed! We don't want that to happen!" you said angrily while moving your hands in motions.

Ash turn to look at you "we?" he ask calmly and continue "What about you?" he ask again. You just stare at him in confused. "Do you really don't want anything bad to happen to me?" he ask while smiling at you. You blush at his question "wh.. What are you talking about Ash?" you ask nervously as you sweat a bit avoiding his eyes.

"are you worried about me?" he ask again. You then turn to look down on your knees. Ash was just staring at you waiting for you to answer. "I am.. I am worried about you.. I'm worried something bad might happen to you Ash.. I'm worried someone might hurt you" you muttered quietly. Ash's eyes widened at your statement. He then smile at you. "thank you (y/n).. Thank you for worrying about me.. " he said.

You turn to look into his eyes as he smile at you. You both stay silent for a moment as you both looked to each others eyes. You then you turn to look down at his hands. "Ash.. Can you promise me something?" you ask quietly. Ash was just staring at you "what is it?" he ask. You look back into his eyes and say,
