[Chapter 2] : The Beginning

"As I was saying, we will be admitted to New York next week through special recommendation. we will be reporting about street gangs" Ibe stated. He shuffled through the papers spread out on the table before him. You barely listen to Ibe. You were distracted by the thought of you going to a new place "New York" you thought to yourself.

Ibe glance up to you a few times and back to Eiji "will it be dangerous? We are going to deal with a street gangs" Eiji confess while looking at Ibe worriedly. "It might sound dangerous but we will still make it" Ibe stated while sweating intensely.

You stare at your food and suddenly muttered quietly "New York". It was quiet but enough to make Ibe and Eiji listen. You didn't notied they were listening to you. They stop talking and turn to face you. "Isn't that the place where the person who kill papa live?". Eiji jumped a bit at your sudden question and quickly turn to Ibe. Truth to be told. There was a short moment of silents. Ibe stare at you with concern look painted on his face.

You stared at your food blankly. Eiji then put his hand on your back and silently say "(y/n).. I'm sorry.. I-" you quickly cut him "I'm sorry Eiji. I didn't mean to bother you. Please forget what I just said" you turn to him and smile weakly. Still looking down on your food you slowly turn up to Ibe. "I'm sorry uncle" you smile weakly. Eiji stare at you. Ibe didn't say anything and just blankly stare at you as sadness fill his thought.

"uncle, please continue" Ibe nod and start to talk when suddenly his phone ringing. "I'm sorry. I need to take this. Please excuse me" you and Eiji just nod. Both of you stay silent when Eiji break the silent "I hope we can do our best" he stated and smile at you. "me too.. " you meekly responded. Eiji glanced at you solemnly, wishing he could do more than just fill you up with his sympathy.

Ibe showed up a moment after and stated "(y/n).. Eiji.. I'm sorry but I'm affraid we need to go to New York tomorrow morning due to some case that has been happening there" both you and Eiji jumped and quickly look at Ibe "ehhh???.. " you both said at the same time. Ibe sweat a bit at both of you and start talking again "They were hoping for us to come early before things got worst. So I guess that can't be help hehe.."

You then look at Eiji. You noticed that he was sweating in fear then you hold his hand and smile at him "It's okay Eiji. We can do it! right uncle?" you turn to look at Ibe. Ibe just nodded and smile at Eiji. You turn back to look at Eiji. Both of you were smiling at each other.

You were so close to Eiji since your first day in college. You never knew that you would had a friend like him. He feels like a brother to you. He's always been there for you when you needed someone by your side to go through your rough day. Eiji always make sure you keep a smile on your face. It was his favourite one. He never wants you to ever feel pain and always want to be there for you.

You turn to look at Ibe as Ibe start talking again "So I want both of you to packed up tonight. I will prepare the tickets for us so you both can just focus on bringing your importance" you and Eiji nod together.

- In the morning at the Airport -

"Here you go (y/n)" you turn to look at Ibe and realise he handed a ticket to you. There wasn't a moment of hesitation. You take the ticket and put it in your bag. "(y/n)! Ibe!" you heard Eiji shout from behind then turn to him and smile. He was running towards both of you. "Good moring Eiji" you greet him. "Good morning (y/n).. Ibe" Eiji smile as he greet both of you. You smile back at him. "ah! There you are! Here's your ticket Eiji" Ibe handed the ticket to Eiji.

Ibe start walking then both you and Eiji follow him from behind. "how are you feeling (y/n)? Aren't you nervous?" Eiji ask. You turn to face him then smirked "hmm? says the one who was sweating intensely yesterday huh?" Eiji blush and turn away from you as you laugh at his sudden reaction. "hey both of you" you and Eiji turn to look at Ibe "stay with me. I won't be able to find you in this crowd if you get lost" Ibe stated. "Okay!" you both say at the same time and smile at Ibe.

All of you headed to the designated airplane. After committing tickets at the counter station. You then realise Eiji stop for awhile and was staring outside. You stare at him with a smile on your face while putting your hand on his shoulder "Eiji?" he jumped at your sudden touch then turn to face you "(y/n)! I.. I was just looking at the planes" he confess while blushing "is this your first time Eiji?" you ask. Eiji nod silently.

"It's my first time too" Eiji look up at you "papa promise me to bring us to New York one day.. He told me that he wants me to meet his friends and see the outside world together.." you smile sweetly while staring at the planes. Eiji stare at you silently. You turn to face him and realised he was staring at you "um.. Eiji?" you awkwardly say. Eiji then smile at you and say "you will see the outside world (y/n)" you look at him silently "You have Ibe.. and me to make that dreams comes true.. We will make sure you don't feel lonely when you are outside!" Eiji smile then put his hand on top of your head. Your eyes widened at his comforting words when suddenly Ibe call for both of you. Eiji turn his face to look at Ibe.

Your eyes still staring at Eiji's as you feel tears start running through your cheeck. Your body move on your own as you hug him tightly. Eiji jumped at your sudden move but then hugs you back while smiling at you. Ibe runs to both of you and ask "what's wrong? (y/n) are you okay?" Ibe put his hand on your back. Ibe was worried something bad happened to you.

You turn to face Ibe and hugs him tightly as you cry silently in his arms. Ibe hugs you back "(y/n), what happen?". You break the hug and turn your head up to Ibe. "uncle, tha.. thank you.. For taking care of me.. I love you so much" you smile with tears in your eyes. Ibe then look at Eiji. Eiji just smile at him and turn his gaze to you. Ibe put his hand on your head and smile "I love you too (y/n)".

"now, we should hurry.. our flights is about to take off" ibe stated. You wiped your tears and nodded. You then turn to face Eiji. He turn to look at you and smile "let's go (y/n)". You nod and follow them to the designated airplane. You were smiling on your own and thought to yourself,
