Jordyn’s POV:
When we got to the party, I decided to go find Brandon. He’s my best friend, not just my boyfriend. We’ve been together for two years.
I told Leighton and the boys and walked off. Leighton has only been here for about a week and I already love her to death. I know the boys do too. I’ve seen the way Aaron, Blake, and even Logan look at her. I can tell they like here as more than a sister. I just hope they don’t hurt her, or vice versa.
I saw Brandon standing with some of the guys from the football team. I walked over to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. I snaked my arms around his neck. He closed the space between us. When my lips met his soft ones all the sounds surrounding us seemed to disappear. It was just us. I pulled away first. There was wolf whistles filling the air around us. I just rolled my eyes and flipped them off. I had a smile on my face though.
Brandon grabbed my small hand in his large one and led me to where the drinks were. He reached into the cooler and pulled out two cokes. We don’t drink at parties. A year ago, one of our close friends got into a car accident. She was hit by a drunk driver. She didn’t make it. We both decided to never drink at parties. The only time we ever drink is when we’re somewhere we know we’ll be until we’re sober enough to drive safely.
“Leighton looks a little drunk.” Brandon pointed out as she stumbled to the boys.
“Just a little!” I laughed.
“Dance with me? Brandon smiled that smile that makes my heart melt.
I nodded and pulled him onto the ‘dance floor’. He pulled me close and I rested my head in the crook of his neck. We swayed back and forth to the song ‘God Gave Me You’.
The song ended and he lifted my head to where I was looking him in the eyes. He kissed my lips softly. It was one of those kisses that were so soft but filled with so much love and passion. He pulled away and rested his forehead on him.
“I love you, Jordyn.” He whispered.
“I love you too.” I looked into his beautiful blue eyes.
A very popular fast song came on causing a group of extremely drunk white girls to squeal. I groaned and rolled my eyes. Thanks for ruining the moment!
I glanced behind me. Leighton was pulling Jaden to his feet. I stood and watched as she pulled him off to the crowd of dancing people. I looked back over to the boys and they looked PISSED. Logan must have managed to escape from the blonde. When I looked back towards Leighton, she was grinding all over Jaden.
“Shit!” I muttered.
“What is it babe?” Brandon asked, obviously confused.
“Leighton.” I simply pointed to her and then back to the angry boys.
His mouth formed an ‘o’. “You go handle that, babe. I’m going to head out.” He kissed my cheek and we said out goodbyes.
I walked over to Blake, my cousins, and their friends. Logan was standing beside the log looking like he was about to explode. Aaron and Blake looked just about the same. Poor Callon, Ethan, and Kyle all looked really confused. I don’t really blame them. Leighton isn’t really the type of person you would expect that from.
The song ended and Jaden walked over with a smug look on his face. I can’t stand that kid. Leighton was walking beside him oblivious to the look on his face. They walked over and sat down. Leighton obviously didn’t see me. After about a minute, Leighton jumped up and announced she was going to get another drink. Logan stepped in.
“Leighton, I don’t know if that’s a good idea.” He said what everyone was thinking.
“Why not?”
“Because you’ve already had way more than you need.”
“One more? Please?” She pouted and I knew one of the boys would cave in.
“One. That’s it.” Aaron told her. Hmm. I figured it would be Blake.
“YAY!” She screamed and ran off. I watched her.
“Pussy!” I heard one of them say. And then I heard a ‘pop’. I’m assuming someone got hit.
“Shut up. I can’t resist the pout!” He defended.
I watched Leighton pull two drinks out of the cooler and quickly down one. She started walking back this way with the other in her hand.
I turned to the boys.
“She drank one before she came over here by the way.” I informed them.
Blake groaned and put his head in his hands.
“Damn, she’s sexy!” Jaden said, meaning to whisper to Ethan but basically yelled because of how drunk he is.
Aaron, Blake, and Logan got those angry looks on their faces again. Callon clamped a hand over Jaden’s mouth. Jaden really is asking to be murdered.
Leighton came back and sat down. Out of nowhere, she started laughing. At first it was a giggle, but then it turned into hysterical laughter.
“I think we should go home now, Leighton.” Blake stood up.
“But I’m having fun!” She groaned.
He must have given her what I call “The Look” because she finally added “Fine! But I don’t want to walk! It’s too far.” She grinned.
Oh, this girl is GOOD.
He walked over and sat her on his hip.
Really good.
We walked to the car silently. Blake sat her in the back seat with Logan. She instantly snuggled up to him and I could tell he was enjoying every minute of it.
She was asleep by the time we got home so Logan carried her up to her room. And I don’t think he came out. Oh,boy…
