AUTHOR’S NOTE AT THE END! :)
The week flew by pretty fast. Before I knew it, it was Friday.
“Hey,Hooker! We’re going to a party.” Jordyn busted into my room around seven.
“Kyle’s, right?” I didn’t even look up from my homework.
“Yep. We have two hours. Come on!”
I sighed and closed my notebook.
“What do I wear?”
“Ooh! Wait here!” She ran out of my room. I laughed at her excitement. She walked, well skipped, back in with a pair of white shorts, a turquoise halter top with rhinestones on the strap.
“Hmm. Not bad.” I teased. She tossed the outfit at me.
I ran into my closet to change, and she ran into my bathroom. I slipped out of the t-shirt and shorts I was wearing and changed into the outfit Jordyn picked out. I walked out about the same time she did.
“You look gorgeous!” I told her as I took in her ripped, faded blue jean shorts and orange one shoulder shirt.
“So do you!” She grinned and looked me up and down.
I walked over to my desk and plugged in my straightening iron. I pulled my makeup and hairspray.
“Make-up time!” I sang.
Jordyn walked over and sat in my chair. I spun her around and started applying her makeup. When I was finished, I spun her back around to face the mirror. I had gone with a more natural look; she doesn’t need much. We swapped places and she started on my makeup.
“Leighton, can we talk about what happened?” Jordyn said softly.
I had managed to go all week avoiding the subject. I knew that eventually I’d have to explain.
I nodded. “Where do I start?”
“Why did you move?”
“I was bullied. I was best friends with this guy named Kaidyn until seventh grade. One day he just started picking on me and it caught on. Everyone started making fun of me.” I started.
“That’s why you cut.” Jordyn said more to herself than me.
I nodded. “Why did you get so upset on Monday?” She wondered.
“People from my old school were texting me and posting on my facebook wall. I just snapped. I had to get away.”
She nodded and noticed the unshed tears in my eyes. “Hey, don’t cry! You’ll mess up your amazing makeup!” She teased.
I loved how Jordyn could always make me laugh, even if I was on the verge of tears. She spun me around so I could see my makeup. She had lined my eyes with dark black eyeliner that made my blue eyes pop. The rest looked natural. I smiled at my reflection. We moved on to our hair. As always, I straightened and teased my long black hair. Jordyn curled her shining blonde hair.
“SHOES!” Jordyn screamed, scaring me half to death.
“What?”
“We need to find shoes! We have to leave in like fifteen minutes!” She shrieked and ran out of my room. I shook my head and walked to my closet. I picked up some simple white sandals.
“Perfect!” I smiled to myself.
Jordyn walked back in wearing black flip flops.
“Ready?” She grinned.
“Ready!”
A/N Well, here it is! :) Sooo, a little Jordyn-Leighton bonding time ;)
Kyle’s party next chapter! I know it’s short but I needed to end it here. Oh, and new cover! I know, it’s not that good, but it’s the best I could do at the time. Anyway, I’ll upload again as soon as possible. Until then, eat a pickle, write a novel, and buy a goat. Just kidding. It won’t take that long! ;)
