Sam x Reader

Sam comforts reader after a nightmare

The sounds of their screams echoed through your mind. Looking around you began to breath deeply, trying to catch your breath after running for so long. Hearing the snap of a branch behind you and a low growl you once again took off, never looking back. You knew you wouldn't last long, running blind through the dark woods the only sound you could hear was the roaring of your blood pumping.

Finally your legs gave out, crashing to the dirt you laid there, simply trying to get oxygen into your lungs. Opening your eyes and sitting up you turned to survey your surroundings. As you turned to your left you were met with a little girl, she wore a simple purple dress and held a teddy bear under one arm. Her blonde hair was put up in pigtails and she looked to be only four or five.

Looking around for anyone else you saw a man standing under a tree, he wore a t shirt and jeans. The more you looked around the more people surrounded you. Finally you felt a tug on your hand, looking down your eyes met that of the little girl. "Why did you let the bad man hurt me? Where is my mommy and daddy? Did the bad man hurt them too?"

Eyes widening you pulled back your hand as blood began trickling down her face, looking around you noticed the other people were now covered in blood as well, clothes and flesh torn. All of them began moving forward, different cries were heard and you began feeling the tears fall as they drew closer.

"Where were you?!"

"Why didn't you save me?"

"This is your fault!"

Feeling your back hit a tree you lifted both hands to your ears, trying to drown out the voices. Sliding down the rough bark you crouched at the foot of the tree as they all loomed over you. Tears fell freely now as you wept, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you! I wasn't strong enough! I swear I tried!"

"Y/N!"

The voices continued to scream but one voice rang out louder than the others, it sounded familiar and spoke only your name.

"Y/N! Come on baby wake up!"

Opening your eyes you tried to sit up, breathing deep you pushed against whatever was holding you down as you tried focusing your eyes. "Baby calm down it's me! Shhhh baby, it was just a dream."

Slowly your eyes focused on Sam's face above yours, immediately you stopped struggling, feeling all energy drain from your body. "Sam?" you whimpered.

Letting out a big breath he nodded as he brushed some hair from your face. "Yeah Baby it's me, are you okay?"

Sitting up you rubbed at your eyes hard, the voices and faces still fresh in your mind. "It was horrible, all the people I couldn't save, they blamed me. And the little girl, she looked so sad, Sam I couldn't stand it." As your shoulder began shaking again Sam moved to lay down, pulling you tight against his chest. For a while he simply held you, kissing your head and whispering all the reasons he loved you. As you began calming down and growing sleepy Sam noticed, "Go to sleep Y/N, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." Placing a soft kiss at the base of his neck you nuzzled closer to your boyfriend, "I love you Sam."

"I love you too baby."
