Race nearly tripped over each step as Spot led him to the Brooklyn Bridge. Race thought he was taking him back to Manhattan, but he began walking down to what looked like a small, old shipping dock. Spot gracefully glided down the steep hill that separated land from sea. Race was in awe at his swiftness and finesse as he carried himself down the hill. Himself, being him, had so much self doubt in his ability to not look like an idiot in front of Spot so, he inched his way carefully down to an already sitting Spot, "Sot down Race." Spot said plainly while keeping his gaze on the Manhattan skyline. By now it was sunset and the buildings against the blazing orange was breathtaking.
"Do ya know who I'd brought yous here?" Spot asked still hypnotized on the buildings, "Uhh...no I dunno." Race said glancing over, "This place. It's special to me." Spot then leaned back and and began to rest on his elbows, "This is where my fadda and me would hang out. Before he left, I's was his favorite out of nine." He chuckled at the memory, "Then," he continued, "he left my mudda with nine mouths to feed, nine backs to clothe, and nine kids to raise alone." Race looked over at him and made eye contact. Spot sighed, "To make life easier for her, I got a job. I became a Newsie. She left to. I haven't seen her in years. My siblings moved on. Packed up and left New York." Race still maintained eye contact with Spot as he spoke, "So now, i's come here and think." When he finished, "Race leaned back to match his position, "Well I'd love it." Race smirked, "Its just as pretty as yous." He mumbled. Spot giggled, "Nothing is as pretty as me." He smirked. Race laughed, "Except yous." Spot finished this caused Race to blush. Their little "date" was interrupted by Specs yelling, "Geez buy him some chocolate and marry him!" In front of everybody on the Brooklyn Bridge. Both boys laughed awkwardly, "Well," Race said standing up, "Thanks Spotty." Spot blushed at the nickname and replied, "No problem Higgins."
