"Mr. Stark! Uh, wha—what are you doing here?" Peter stuttered. "Um, if this is about—"
"Actually," Mr. Stark interrupted, stepping by Peter and walking in. "I wanted to talk with this young lady."
I realized he was walking toward me, so I quickly stood up.
He stopped in front of me and stuck his hand out. "Camella, right?"
I hesitantly shook his hand. "Um, yes, sir." I glanced over at my mom, who looked excited.
"I am glad to inform you that you have been accepted for an internship," Mr. Stark announced.
My jaw dropped. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Really? Camella, you didn't tell me that you applied for an internship with Mr. Stark," Peter said. There was a hint of something in his voice, but I couldn't tell what it was.
"Because I di—"
"I'm just gonna pull Camella into another room for a minute, okay?" Mr. Stark cut me off. He took me by my elbow and led me into Peter's room. I walked to the middle of the room while Mr. Stark shut the door.
"I didn't apply for an internship," I started.
"You went on a field trip to a lab last year, correct?" he asked, turning around to face me.
I blinked, taken aback. A memory flooded back into my head, of the lab and the mysterious substance I had clumsily knocked over and spilled on me. "How—"
"And while on a tour," he continued, "you wandered off and accidentally spilled a golden liquid on you." He began walking in slow circles around me, crossing his arms.
"Yeah...how did you know that?"
"I have my ways," he responded vaguely. "That liquid was a chemical undergoing tests that may have had the possibility of giving you powers—"
I began to argue, but he stopped pacing and held up a finger to silence me.
"—that could possibly be activated by giving you a special serum," he finished. He looked at me pointedly. "If you accept my offer, I can give you the serum and train you. The internship will just be a cover-up."
I stared at him in silence. I could be a hero. I could help people. But there are other things to consider, too...
"Will this interfere with school or anything?" I finally asked.
Tony shrugged. "Not if you don't let it. There might be one or two occasions when I'll have to pull you out of school for a few days for a mission, but I'll just tell them that it's a retreat for the internship or something." He thought for a second. "That's another thing. You can't tell anyone." He searched my face. "What do you say, kid?"
I thought for a minute. One of my dream jobs was becoming an FBI agent. I had always had this urge to help and take care of people. I hated to see people suffer. It was a great opportunity, and it would be best if no one knew. Especially my mom, Peter, and May. They'd freak if they knew. They'd worry non-stop. And, yeah, I know it's dangerous, but I'd powers, and besides, Mr. Stark said he'd train me.
"It's a deal," I told him.
"Great. Now, I have a design idea for a suit—"
"Whoa, wait. I'm already getting a suit?"
"Yes, obviously. I'm not letting you go out and fight crime in that," he retorted, gesturing to my outfit.
"Alright, fair enough. Continue."
"I have a design idea, but I just need a theme color..."
My eyes darted around the room until they rested on a book stacked on one of Peter's shelves.
"How about violet?"

Back in the living room, we found Peter and my mom catching up. They looked at us as we re-entered.
Mr. Stark clapped me on the shoulder. "When we're ready for you to start, I'll have my driver Happy pick you up from school."
"Do you know what school I go to?" I asked suspiciously.
"As I said, I have my ways," he repeated, winking. "I look forward to working with you, kid." He patted me on the back and exited the apartment.
"Oh, congrats, honey!" Mom squealed, hugging me. "I'm gonna go get in the car, but you need to wrap things up here because we've gotta go." She kissed my forehead and waved goodbye to Peter, then left the apartment.
"So, a Stark internship?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, I know."
"I never knew you were interested in that kind of stuff."
As shy as I was, I had always been a good liar. "Oh, yeah. My mom talked about her job a lot, so I just thought I'd try it out." I fell silent for a moment. "So what's Tony Stark like as a boss?"
"Oh, well, he's kinda tough, but he has good intentions. He sees the potential in people. He softens a bit when you get to work with him for a while."
"Mmhmm. Or maybe he'll find me delightful and treat me like a princess," I joked.
"Okay, sure. Whatever makes you sleep at night," he replied, smiling.
We stared at each other for a few seconds before I averted my eyes.
"Well, I've gotta go." I gestured to the door. "See you tomorrow."
"See you."
I hesitated before turning to leave and gave him a hug. "I'm glad I ran into you again."
"Me, too," he replied, hugging back. I pulled away and smiled, then grabbed my things and left.

On the way home, Mom kept saying how lucky I was.
"This is such an amazing privilege. This could turn into a good job," she went on.
I was too excited thinking about when I would start training to even try and listen to her.
I can't believe it. I'm gonna be a superhero.

A/N - here's this part just cause I thought you guys needed an update. This literally took me 20 minutes to write so its probably crap, but I didn't know if I wanted her to have superpowers or just be normal or what, so I just went with this. I have some tea that is planned to be spilled later on, so stay tuned.
