Peter and I decided to have a Star Wars movie marathon at his place. We had everything all set: popcorn, soda, blankets, pillows, you name it.
We kept quoting lines like the dorks we were, then laughing at ourselves for doing so.
We finished the movies at around 11 pm, so I decided to go home and do my homework. Thank God it was easy, or else I would've been up until three in the morning.
I went to bed thinking about Peter and how I wish I could tell him about Ultra Violet. Should I? No, I could risk losing everything. I was good at keeping secrets, who said I can't keep this one?
A FEW WEEKS LATER
Over the past few weeks, I had learned a lot from Steve, Natasha, Wanda, and Mr. Stark about fighting from my lessons. Mr. Stark told me that my next few lessons were going to be with the suit. I was so excited, I could barely focus on anything for more than a couple of minutes.
The lessons with the suit went really well. Mr. Stark had to make a few adjustments, but he said that next time I came in, he would have a surprise for me. I couldn't help but wonder what it could be.
Finally, the day came. I walked in and made my way to the training center. I'd been there enough that I knew where I was going. Mr. Stark was there waiting with my suit, a smile on his face. A huge one grew on my face, even though I had already been in the suit a few times, but it still made me giddy.
I changed into my suit and walked back out, where I found Mr. Stark, Steve, Nat, Wanda, Clint, Bruce, and even Thor.
"So what's the surprise?" I ask curiously.
"Well," Mr. Stark started. " We were thinking that today we would let you go out on patrol for a while, to see how you get the feel of it."
He paused. "But..."
Of course there's a "but".
"We can't let you go alone."
"So, are one of you guys taking me?"
"No, we thought we'd introduce you to someone new." Mr. Stark turned towards the door and cupped his hands around his mouth and hollered, "Underoos!"
A blur of red and blue flipped in and landed in front of me. Spiderman.
My breath hitched, but not noticeably.
Mr. Stark put a hand on Spiderman's shoulder. "This'll be your patrol partner."
"Hey, I'm Spiderman," he greeted me, waving.
"Ultra Violet," I replied.
"Cool name," he told me. I nodded a thanks and Mr. Stark started to talk.
"You guys are gonna go out and patrol, but first I want you guys to fight."
"Uh, fight?" I asked.
"Yeah! It'll be good for you guys," he encouraged. He stepped off the mat to let Spidey and I fight it out.
He made the first move, shooting a web at me. I dodged and rolled forward, getting myself closer to him. I squatted and swept a leg out, hoping to topple him over, but he jumped over it. I sprung up and he threw a punch at me. I caught it and threw his arm back.
