ONE WEEK LATER

I've been waiting all week. Each day I would walk out of school, expecting to see a fancy expensive car, but nothing. I'm greeted with nothing.

My mind has been completely clouded over with thoughts of superpowers and suits, and the margins of my notebooks showed that, too. I wonder what kind of powers I'll get.

"Camella!"

I snapped out of my daydream. "Hmm?"

"Your pencil has been hovering over your paper for the past 5 minutes," Peter whispered. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, nothing—it's just the internship. Happy hasn't come by here or contacted me yet."

"Yeah, I know how that feels," he mumbled.

Over the past week, Peter and I have reconnected. It turns out that we both stayed pretty much the same. Our Star Wars obsession is still strong. We even had a lightsaber battle back at his place the other day.

It's like there was this flame that we had between us when we were younger. It was bright and going strong, but then I moved away and it blew out. Now, I think there's a little spark there again.

For the rest of that period, I tried to focus on my work.

Last period of the day, Camella. You can do this.

When the bell rang, I practically flew out of the room.

"Bye, Peter!" I called out, not looking back and not waiting for a response. At my locker, I shoved my textbooks and notebooks in my bag and slammed it shut. I took a deep breath and began to briskly walk down the hall.

I swear to God, if there is no car out there, I will scream bloody mur

As I swung the door open, I saw a sleek, black car parked right outside.

The window rolled down and who I'm assuming is Happy poked his head out. "Camella?"

I nodded. He jerked his head toward the backseats and said, "Get in."

* * *

The ride was a bit uncomfortable. Let's just say that it's really ironic that that man is named Happy.

When I got out of the car, I gaped at the enormous building with the signature "A" on the front.

Happy led me inside and soon enough we found Mr. Stark.

"Ah, Camella!" he exclaimed when he saw me. "Thanks, Happy," he said, dismissing the other man.

He began walking me down a large corridor. "Now, how this is gonna go is I'm gonna give you the serum, we'll test out your powers, and you might even get to try on the suit. Sound good?"

I nodded excitedly. "Yes, sir."

"No need to call me sir," he chuckled. "Tony is fine."

He led me down a few steps and opened a large set of double doors into what looked like a big lab. The sides of the room were lined with what I assumed were some sort of patient examining areas with glass walls. He brought me to one and sat me down on the edge of the bed.
