Camella
The next day at school was a bit better. Not as many people stared at me, and I was starting to feel better about my whole situation.
When I got back to the compound, everyone seemed a bit weird, like they were all stealing glances at me. Peter was with me and he noticed it, too.
Maybe someone else died, too.
Shut up, not everything is as bad as it seems.
As we were making our way to my room, Happy ran into us.
"Hey, Tony needs to see you in his office," he said urgently.
"Why, did something happen?" I asked nervously.
Happy sighed. "Just—you'll see." He gave me a warning look before he walked off.
I looked at Peter worriedly. "What was that all about?"
"I dunno, I guess we'll find out."
When we got to his office, we found Tony pacing back and forth in front of his door.
"Good. You're here," he said anxiously.
"Yeah, what's going on? Everyone looked at me like something bad happened and no one wanted to tell me what it was," I told him.
"Well, just go inside and you'll see. Just you, though." He glanced at Peter.
"Um, okay." I looked at him weirdly before opening his office door and closing it behind me softly.
Standing by a window overlooking the view outside was a man I'd never seen before. He had brown hair that was starting to turn grey and he was wearing a nice suit like all the government officials I've seen lately.
When he heard me enter, he turned around. His face looked kind of familiar but I couldn't place where I'd seen him before. He gave me a sort of pained smile, like it hurt him to see me.
"Hello, darling," he said in a deep voice.
"Um, hi? Who are you?" I asked, completely confused as to why he was here.
"Well, now, I thought you would've recognized me. I'm sure you must've seen pictures of me before," he prompted me.
Then I realized where I'd seen him. My mom has shown me pictures from when he was younger. My stomach seemed to drop to my feet.
"I'm your dad, sweetheart."
