during the next couple of days, the three of them found themselves constantly busy. from showing Carlos more of their world to their training all the way to finding themselves cleaning the house. in all, no one could argue that they weren't occupied. Cole busied himself the most in hopes of trying to forget what had happened to his parents. Jenna ended up being taught how to cook certain dishes by Carlos's niece. and Charlie found himself with Carlos a lot, hearing stories of his family. however, around the end of the first week, they all started to become antsy.

they'd found lot's of hacks in nearby trees which Jenna had used as target practice, Cole was finding fewer excuses to do things and Charlie was getting tired of hearing how great his biological dad was.

"Guys if we don't start shadowhunting now i'm going to lose it!" Jenna explained to them one morning.

"Is there any way we can tell if the Clave has stopped searching for us?" Charlie asked.

"Not from here no, but it's been a couple of days I would have thought they'd forgotten," Cole answered with a shrug.

before anyone else could answer, a loud crash shook the house. they each looked at each other for a second before they all had their weapons out. Cole rushed them upstairs where the sound of Carlos's loud coughing echoed to them.

Charlie pushed forward and threw open the door to find him on the ground clutching his chest. he ran over to the old man's side, followed by the twins, and he knelt next to him.

"Carlos, what's wrong?" Charlie asked alarmed.

"My- My cabinet. there's a yellow murky....vile. please, i- please I need it" the old man gasped out.

Jenna ran over and searched the cabinet while Cole quickly scanned the rest of the room.

"It's empty!" Jenna called running over.

Carlos looked defeated and painfully nodded. he pulled out some pills and began to bite them, he looked slightly better but not much. Charlie and Cole helped the man up and onto his bed, as he looked closer to death.

"What do you need?" Cole asked.

"My medicine, it's run out," he answered darkly.

"We can go get it, where do you find it?" Charlie answered.

"I don't want to trouble you all with an old man's burden." Carlos groaned a laugh.

"Carlos, you're hurt and we can help. where do we find it." Jenna urged.

Carlos sighed and pulled out his bible, from it he pulled out another paper with a neatly written address. he passed it and a pair of car keys to Charlie before he began to violently cough.

"Take the car." the old man wheezed
