TWO WEEKS LATER – MAYA’S P.O.V.

I rolled out of bed, my feet hitting the floor with a thud. I had to work later on… I groaned, trying to push that thought out of my head. I fixed Harry’s t-shirt that I was wearing and walked into the bathroom to clean up a little bit before I went downstairs.

I had a feeling that today was a special day for some reason, but I forgot why. As I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I tried to remember what today was. September twenty-fourth. I shrugged, deciding I was just going crazy and it was just a regular day.

As I left the bathroom and started to walk downstairs, it hit me. Today was our first anniversary!

“HARRY!” I exclaimed and I sprinted down the stairs, spinning around the banister and running into the kitchen. Harry stood at the island, preparing himself for the hug he was about to get. He opened his arms for me, obviously knowing why I was so excited. I ran into him and he picked me up and spun me around. He laughed at my excitement and I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, pressing my nose into the side of his neck and inhaling his cologne that he knew I loved.

He stopped spinning me and stood still, my legs wrapping around his waist and my forehead touching his.

“An entire year,” I smiled and moved my lips closer to his, “We’ve been married an entire year.” Instead of kissing him again, I just hugged him tightly around his neck again.

Harry pulled back to look at me, “Can you believe it?” he sighed, smiling.

“No, I really can’t,” I answered before he could say anything more. Harry set me down on the counter, but kept his arms around me.

“So, I started breakfast,” Harry gestured to what he was cooking on the stove.

I giggled, “I can see that, thank you.”

Harry shrugged, “But that’s not all I’m surprising you with,” he tilted his head and winked at me once. I put my hands on the back of his neck and pulled him closer to me.

“What else could there possibly be?” I whispered on his lips, knowing what he was going to tell me was going to be good.

“You have to go pack your bags,” Harry smiled at me, his lips brushing mine with each word, “Because we’re going to France.”

Butterflies immediately entered my stomach and my entire face lit up.

“No,” my jaw dropped into a smile.

“Yes!” Harry laughed and before I knew it, I’d grabbed his face and crushed my lips into his. He seemed surprised at first, but quickly kissed me back.

“I love you,” I mumbled pulling away for less than a second before closing the gap again, “I love you, I love you.”

“Hey missy, you have to go back up, because we’re leaving at noon!”
