The rest of the day, Harry invited everyone over, and by everyone, I mean the band and their girlfriends. I was surprised they could all make it on such short notice too. But, they didn’t have to buy me any presents, so they didn’t have to go out of their way. I convinced Harry to let me invite Tate over too, which actually took a lot of convincing.  

            “Harry, what else is he going to do? He’s my friend…”

            “Maya, I don’t think it’s such a good idea.”

            “Please Harry?” I pouted, making a puppy dog face.

            “Maya…” he said his voice trailing off. I kissed him.

            “Cool! I’ll call him now,” I said with a smile, walking off and taking my phone out of my pocket. I heard Harry mumble something, but I didn’t hear what; I was too excited.

            Everyone started to arrive at around 4:30 and of course they all brought presents.

            I sighed, “I thought I told Harry to tell you not to get me presents,” I said looking at Liam and Danielle and Louis and Madeline. They were the first ones to get here.

            “Well this one is from Liam and me,” Danielle said handing me a blue shimmery bag with a lot of sparkly white tissue paper coming out the top. “I picked it out because I thought you would like it.” She smiled widely at me.

            Louis and Madeline handed me a bag too, “And this is from us, I really hope you like it,” Madeline said, “And I hope they fit you…”

            I sighed, “You got me clothes? Really guys, I didn’t need anything.”

            “Maya, it’s your thirtieth birthday,” Liam said right before the doorbell rang. Louis answered it since he was closest. Niall and his girlfriend Kayla walked in.

            “Hey everyone!” Niall exclaimed happily. Kayla stood next to his side, not really saying anything. I smiled at her and waved her over to where the girls and I were standing.

            “I’m Maya,” I said.

            “Kayla,” she replied nodding.

            “And you’re Niall’s girlfriend?” Danielle asked.

            Kayla nodded.

            “Well I’m Danielle, and this is Madeline, it’s really nice to meet you,” she smiled sincerely and I saw Kayla start to loosen up. I put my bags down at the base of the stairs. The guys started to walk into the living room, but Niall passed Kayla a small bag.

            “I’m going into the living room,” he told her. She nodded and he squeezed her hand before he followed the rest of the guys.

            “Oh um, this is from Niall and I,” Kayla said handing me the bag.

            “Oh, not you too…” I said reluctantly taking the bag.

            She looked at me confused.

            “Maya didn’t want any presents,” Madeline explained.
