Ps every chapter I'll add one of my favorite songs that I listened to while writing so don't forget to check that out too ! Oh and there might be some mistakes I wrote on my phone.. :) ~ reign
My world is wrapped around working off of tips from the next guy who hits on me or the next obnoxious customer who comes barging in the restaurant expecting everyone to bow down to them, and because of this the last guy I had almost cost me my job, what would you do if someone would refer to you as peasant? And demanded you'd call them by the name Royalty. - I don't think so - But but on the other hand, today I got lucky there wasn't a ton of people coming in this Monday morning and all of my tables were well deserved of my service - as bad as I hate to admit it - but it was true.
But I might've spoke too soon.
The next couple that had just came in threw me off a little. The elderly woman and male had came in and took their seats right in the middle of the restaurant and not everybody had been very fond of sitting right in the center of the place but they didn't see to care. The whole time I kept my eyes on them they didn't unlock eye contact or let go of each other's hands. I've seen plenty of couples come in here but this one seemed to really stand out to me for some reason.
"If I would have fought, I swear that's what we would have had."
I turned around startled by the voice so sudden, right behind my ear but to see nothing but empty tables surrounding me.
I looked checked around my surroundings just to see Rebecca's tight curls sticking up from above the lower shelf she was digging into.
Along with Rogan, Daniel and Chris cooking up the last order I sent in.
I was a little confused as to who had said this but instead of killing all this time in my thoughts, I forced my way over to the table pushing my thoughts in the back of my head.
"Welcome to Ronnie's Big Dish, I will be your waitress, Now what kind of drinks can I get you today?" I pulled together a forced smile.
"My wife and I will both have some water." The males voice cracked as he still did not take his eyes off his wife.
I stood silent for a short moment before saying.
"Okay I will be-"
"Today I just found out.." The man paused with a sniffle and a tear streaming down his wrinkled cheek. "I'm going to lose my wife." His words spurred agony and distress into the air putting an incredible amount of pain on my already heavy heart.
The lady looked up at me now with a smile on her face. It didn't even seem to look forced. She was genuinely smiling. "We went to the doctors this morning, and they said the cancer had spread." She said as her aged eyes glistened with tears now. "There's nothing they can do." She choked up.
I swallowed hard not sure of what I could possibly say to that.
there was nothing I could. I hadn't even known these people for longer than five minutes an I already felt sick to my stomach from the series of sorrow that waved threw my body.
I grasped on to the chair beside me in need of balance, a lump formed in my throat as my mouth began to disgustingly fill with water. My feet suddenly began to think for themselves before I could even process where I was heading but within seconds I found myself bent over the toilet puking up the little bit of food I had left in my stomach.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?"
"Nothing, I'm okay.." I mumbled.
"I'm- I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that."
