The weekend went by without a problem. Last night I actually found something interesting when going through a stack of the albums I brought home with me and I planned on telling Lacy about it.

When I dropped Amiyah off at school she gladly went inside to her class. I also noticed that a lady brought in Khaled. Must be Mr. Nelson's wife. No wonder he's such an adorable kid, both of his parents are beautiful.

"How was your weekend?" Lacy asks, putting a file on my desk. "It was good. What's this?"

"It's Nicole's mocks. She dropped them off as soon as I got here."

I opened and looked through them. They weren't bad at all. She'd done one with TLC that was immediately my favorite. "These are actually really good. I wonder who is going to have the cover."

"I heard one of them is Doug E. Fresh. You know his album just came out and it was recorded at Paisley Park."

"That would be great. We don't do a lot of rap artists. Let me get to this boardroom though."

Everyone was there speculating about the news. Calvin was dead set on Doug E being one of them. He starting rapping like him, entertaining some of the white people who never heard one of his songs. After fifteen minutes Vincent finally showed up.

"I hope everyone had a great weekend. I unfortunately stopped by a grocery store to see Michael Jackson on the cover of Vibe, but it was bound to happen. Quincy Jones always gets it done. Anyway, we're here to celebrate. We actually have four artists from Paisley Park lined up for an interview."

Damn how am I going to fit everything on the cover?

"They're really hot right now and I came to a conclusion with the executive editor and the owner of Paisley. We though it best that...Chilli, Left Eye and T-Boz get the cover along with Doug E Fresh."

The boardroom went up with applause. I know this is going to be a hit already. Nicole looked over at me and excitedly did a thumbs up. I laughed and nodded.

"I want Lauren for the girls and Justin for Doug E. You both know about their music and can relate to them for a great interview. I also need Phara and Nicole to have their ideas written down and sent to me before the end of today. If no one has anymore questions we're done her.

Damn we couldn't even take in the news yet. I quickly get up and catch Vincent in the hallway. "Is this new protocol or something? Did I mess up the last cover?"

"Of course not, it's nothing like that. It's just the owner wants to know about everything that's going on. He actually insisted that your ideas be immediately sent to him. He loves your work."

"Wow..oh, okay. Well me and Nicole will get them to you in a few hours."

"I expect great things like always."

To say I was nervous would be a lie. I wasn't. I was feeling the heat though. I didn't want our ideas to be what makes or breaks the interviews. "Get Nicole to my office ASAP. Then find me all the memorabilia on TLC and Doug E. Fresh you can. You have an hour." I tell Lacy, sitting down and taking out all of our mock covers. I thought about making a ridiculously long list just to appease him and give the guy options out of the ass. No, no that's too much.

Nicole knocked on the door panel and came in. "Knock, knock! I'm totally a little nervous about this, but I have a lot of ideas."

"Good because we're about to go through every single one of them. Take a seat." She abided and sat down. Working with her was refreshing. She never bullshitted me nor did I her. That's the reason we were done in four hours. Lacy came back on time and we went through and made three mock covers that we weren't changing for anything. It was these three and that was it. When putting the last touches on a piece I remember what I wanted to talk to Lacy about.
