Prince POV

I paged Donna on my way down the elevator, still trying to control my anger. Phara looked so distraught when she came in the house, I knew something happened, just not this. It'll be a cold day in hell before anyone comes between the family we've built.

I broke multiple traffic laws, getting to Paisley Park in twenty five minutes. It's going on six o'clock and thankfully only a few people are here in the studio. I make my way up to my office since Donna hasn't made it yet and pick up the phone. "Hello?"

"Londell, it's P. I need the number to the PI you recommended and the best family lawyer you know. It's urgent."

"Are you at Paisley?" There was shuffling in the background. "Yeah."

"I'm faxing over the PI's information now..and there's a guy I know in Indiana consulting on a custody case right now. He owes me a favor and could be here in a few hours."

"I'll take him."

Phara POV

After me and the children ate, we watched two movies in the living room. Both of them eventually fell asleep snuggled up to me. I think they sensed I was thinking about Prince and not paying attention, so they asked me questions until falling asleep.

I take Amiyah to her bed first, then successfully carry Khaled to his. Prince thought it best they get bunk beds since we decided to stay at my place since it was closer to their school and my job.

We had plans to meet with a realtor after the holidays. Now I have a court date right after New Years instead. I tuck them in and pray they have good dreams. Amiyah smiles in her sleep while Khaled snores lightly. Just like his father.

Going back to the living room to turn off the television and clean up, just as I'm about to go to my room the telephone rings. Prince. I catch it on its third ring in the kitchen. "Hey.."

"Hey baby, how was dinner?" His voice calms me. "It was good, you followed the instructions well. Are you on the way home? I can start to warm the food to make you a plate."

"No, not yet mama. I wanted to check up on you and the children before meeting with this family lawyer Londell knows. It's going to take a couple more hours so It'll probably be late when I get back. Don't try to wait up for me, okay?"

I probably won't have a choice since I'm use to falling asleep next to him now. I haven't went to bed without him since our first night in Cancun. "I'll try.. thank you for handling this for me, I don't know why he would file after almost eight years."

"Me either, but whatever he thought he was doing, it's not gonna happen." His voice lowers as he continues, "You trust me, right Phara?"

"Of course I do baby." He knows if he told me to jump for him to catch me, I would. "Good. I might need some documents as far as Miyah's birth certificate and things like that. We'll talk more about it tomorrow. Get some rest and I'll be back as soon as I can, okay mama?"

"Okay-I love you."

"I love you too beautiful."

I hung up after saying my last see you soon and lean on the counter, thinking about how I got here. It felt like years since I first saw him sitting in this tiny chair and staring at me shyly. Everyday it becomes more obvious he's the man I'm supposed to spend the rest of my life with. This situation just affirms my reoccurring dream.

Looking down at the ring on my right hand, I bite my bottom lip and slide it off, switching it over to my left. "Phara Camille Nelson..it has a nice ring to it." He would want everyone calling me Mrs. Nelson. I turn off the kitchen light and go to my bedroom.
