I stayed gone for a few hours and figured that when I got back, they would be finished and he would finally spend some time with me. He was only home for three days and I couldn't help but feel like a spoiled brat.Unfortunately, cars were still parked everywhere and I knew that I wouldn't get any time with him that day. Walking into the house, Shannon was the first to greet me. "Hey! Where have you been? My brother was looking for you."
He hugged me and after planting a big kiss on his cheek, I made my way up to the bedroom. Tossing my keys down, I sat on the bed, running my hands through my hair.
Jared eventually entered and spoke. "Babe, I've been looking for you. I'm sorry that I have all of these people here, but I promise we will be done soon."
I know what his 'soon,' meant and it's not like everyone else's 'soon,' that's for sure. Patiently, I waited upstairs, even taking a nap only to wake and still hear voices downstairs. I put my new blue strapless dress on and sat down to apply my makeup. If he wouldn't spend time with me, I would just go out. When he came up to retrieve his phone charger, he froze, staring at me. "Where are you going?"
"Out." I couldn't help the bitchy tone in my voice as I got up and walked past him.
He followed behind me, still talking. "What do you mean, out?""I just feel like going out. What difference is it to you? You're busy working, right?" I kept walking toward the door. There were about six people in the room and they were all looking over at us, watching our fight, something I knew he hated.
"Look, I'm sorry. I've just got so much to do and such a little amount of time to do it." He rubbed his hand over his face and the control freak in him was clearly annoyed that he was unable to satisfy two of his loves at once, me and his music. His faded green hair was messy and he really looked stressed.
"That's fine. Do what you gotta do, but I'm going out." I turned around and opened the door. Pulling it closed behind me, I walked to my car.
He came out behind me, slamming the front door. "I'm really sorry, okay. I don't want to fight with you."
"Who's fighting?" I knew that I was acting like a spoiled brat who couldn't get her way, but he was only home for three days.
"Are you really going to go out without me?" He put his hands on his hips.
"You're more than welcome to join me. I'll wait for you to get ready?" I hoped he would say yes, but knew he wouldn't. I waited for his response.
"You know I can't!" He was pissed, but I needed to get away before I opened my mouth and said something stupid.
"That's what I thought you'd say. I gotta go." He stared at me as I got in my car and drove down the street.
I knew that I would only feel bad later, but I couldn't sit there alone anymore. I met an old friend at the club Jared and I frequented. She and I had been friends years ago and hadn't seen each other in a while. She was divorced and had two kids, but was also in desperate need of a night out. We talked for a while and caught up over a few drinks.
I started to feel guilty about the way I acted and felt bad for walking away like I did. I stood there while some guy walked up trying to get me to dance with him. I declined and after an hour, I had enough. Feeling really bad about the argument from earlier, I drove home.
It was all dark inside the house and the cars were gone. Unlocking the door, I stepped inside, only to be met with silence with the exception of my heels clicking on the floor. Making my way to the bedroom, I saw him standing there. His hair was slicked back and he was holding a belt in his hand.
