The Chateau

Ben and Lizzy arrived in Los Angeles. The two of them both knew about that city and how all the movie stars stayed, played, and worked there. There were palm trees and Hollywood. They drove to the Chateau Marmont and was greeted by a valet. The valet assured Ben and Lizzy that the car will be in good hands. They checked into a room that was already reserved under the name of "Mr. and Mrs. Lana Del Ray." "Probably just a joke.", Ben thought as they got into their room.

Lizzy laid on one of the beds. "Long time, chateau.", she said as she was relaxing on the bed. Ben was amazed by staying at a place like this. Many stars have stayed here. From Marilyn Monroe to John Belushi. "Elvis is my daddy, Marilyn's my mother, Jesus is my bestest friend.", Lizzy sang still laying on one of the beds. "Paradise.", Ben said randomly. "Good album name.", Lizzy said. A phone rang in the hotel room and Ben answered it. It was the record people. He gave the phone to Lizzy. Lizzy was told to meet the people at lunch at the Chateau restaurant and discuss the performance. Ben and the singer wanted to walk around the chateau.

Outside in the chateau, they noticed beautiful landscapes. The chateau was like a castle to the both of them. "You must be the Queen of this place too.", Ben said to Lizzy. "Babe", Lizzy went on, "I'm the Queen of New York City, the trailer park, Coney Island, the gas stations, and most of Southern California." They continued walking until they came across a pool area. "The Poolside Bungalow.", Lizzy read, "That's probably where I'm performing tonight. This is all coincidental because I was in this movie called poolside." "Sometimes", Ben stated, "Coincidence can predict the future." Lizzy also pointed out a poster advertising her show tonight. It read: "One night only. Lana Del Rey at the Poolside Bungalow." "They misspelled my last name.", Lizzy said. "I kind of like it this way.", Ben said. "'Del Rey' as in Marina Del Rey, Spanish meaning 'King's Treasure'." "Queen", Lizzy corrected, "But I can go with this spelling." Later that day, Lizzy and Ben met the record people at lunch and talked about the show. Lizzy told them about the misspelling of the last name of her stage name yet insisted to go with the misspelling.

Later that night, Lizzy started to prepare for her show at the pool bungalow. "Well?", Ben asked. "Well, what?", Lizzy asked back. "I believe in you. You'll do great.", Ben said. "Thanks.", Lizzy said with relief. "Marilyn Monroe once believed that if you kept a good thought for her, she'll have positive luck and good things came to her.", Ben stated. "Thanks again.", Lizzy happily acknowledged. The door knocked as a cue for Lizzy to come out. Ben came out with her as support. They arrived at the bungalow with a bunch of people ready to hear the young singer sing. The pool area was crowded. The pool itself was large and consisted of chairs and cabanas. "You're on", one of the stage crew members said. The announcer of the show was on the microphone. "May I present to you, for the first time in Los Angeles, California, as well as the Chateau Marmont itself, the beautiful, the talented, and the one and only, Miss Lana Del Rey." "Break a leg, Lana. I have good thoughts for you.", Ben said kissing her. "Thanks.", the singer said as she went onto the stage. The people cheered and whistled like they were seeing a pretty girl at a game.

An hour has passed, and Lizzy was done singing. The people enjoyed her singing and have said her music was out of this world. Afterward, she was interviewed for MySpace and a YouTube channel about her upbringing, as well as her short film thus future projects. Ben took Lizzy back to their room. "Hey.", Ben said. "You know what we didn't get to do?" "What?". Lizzy asked. "Go swimming.", Ben answered. Lizzy agreed, and they changed into swim clothes, thus raced to the pool. It was the same pool that the singer performed, and the pool had decent water temperature as well as lighting. "Exactly how I pictured it.", Lizzy commented as they were in the water. "I used to watch old films of the chateau." They swam for a while and used the diving board. "Nice form.", Ben said as Lizzy dove from the board. "Thanks.", Lizzy smiled, "I used to do Yoga in college." "Excuse me.", a guest said coming to use the pool, "Aren't you the girl that performed at the poolside a couple hours ago?" "Yeah", Lizzy answered. "May I please get an autograph and a picture?", the guest said pulling out a notepad for Lizzy to sign. Lizzy got of the pool to sign the guest's notepad as well as get her picture with the guest. The guest thanked her. Lizzy also explained to the guest that the photo was a selfie. "Your first fan.", Ben stated as Lizzy got back into the room temperature water. "Fans will be there for me for years to come.", Lizzy stated. Ben got back into the pool. "I'll probably want to be referred to as 'Lana' now.", Lizzy said again, "Lana Del Rey." "So, you prefer that name from now on?", Ben asked. "Yeah", the singer answered, "Call me Lana." "Ok, Lana", Ben said, "Even when you're no longer young and beautiful, I'll love you." "Aww", Lana said, "Kind and sweet."

Ben and Lana went back into the room, showered, and got ready for bed. "I'm going to miss being 'Lizzy Grant'.", Lana said, "It's been fun. Between being the Queen of trailer parks, gas stations, New York City, and Coney Island, I had a pretty good run." "Yeah", Ben acknowledged. "I'll call Blake, Chuck, and Jack to see if they'll live here from now on.", Lana said, "I can use them." "What will Martha say?", Ben asked. "Martha's been kind to me.", Lana answered, "She'll be happy for me and understand." "You'll tour all over the world.", Ben said, "possibly Israel." "Ah, yes", Lana said, "The land of my best friend." "Not just a best friend.", Ben replied, "A savior. Died on the cross for our sins, so we wouldn't suffer." "I should know.", Lana said, "I'm Catholic and so is the rest of my family. I would give it all away just ask him one question." "What would that be?", Ben asked. "I'm still thinking about that.", Lana curiously answered. "Tomorrow, there's something I have to tell you.", Ben said. "What?", Lana asked. "It's a surprise.", Ben answered. "What if I don't like surprises?", Lana asked. "It'll be worth it, trust me.", Ben replied, "Goodnight, Lana." "Goodnight, Ben.", Lana said as they turned off the lights and went to sleep, "Thanks for being with me."
