Shou ran until not daring to look over his shoulder, his heart threatened to explode out of his chest and he thought the tearful sob was just that. A burst of lightening lit up the darkened street he was on, the glow of lights behind him and Shou froze like a deer caught in headlights. Until someone or something tackled him.
The small orange haired omega grunted hitting the rain slicked grass near the edge of the road, then he was tumbling. The dark swirling all around, the heavy pelting of rain and rumble of thunder blocking out any other sounds. Then the spinning and confusion came to a halt, with a sudden thud and tangle of two bodies.
"Are you okay!" Someone was panting over him groaning the small omega sat up blinking. Then the person who had maybe landed on him was moving away. Shou blinked rubbing mud out of his eyes, wondering who the stranger was.
"Oh, thank god. " The umbrella! "Oh, great I lost my bag!" And Suddenly the rain stopped hitting Shou, and then someone was placing the curved handle in his shaking hand. He felt a wet cloth wiping at his muddied face.
"There, let's get you up. We need to find some shelter-there." The stranger had a relaxing way about them and Shou felt himself being led away by the stranger who smelled of vanilla and lavender. The smaller omega was led up a small mossy stone staircase until he and the stranger were out of the rain and sitting under the small slopped roof of a forgotten weather worn shrine.
"Are you ok?" The taller boy gently took the umbrella from Shou folding it up he placed it at his feet on the covered step leaning against the sheltered deck.
"Hey you kids okay?" This caused both boys to jump, Shou squinted as a tall man with long black hair tied back in a low ponytail wearing a simple gray yukata with black clouds lit the lantern just over their heads before moving onto another. Shou tried to sniff the air to identify the man's secondary gender, but came up empty.
"There. Come inside, it wont be much better but it may be a little warmer!" Shou thought the man had the most beautiful silver eyes and his skin was like stone ivory in the dim light.
The stranger smiled holding open the rickety old shrine house door. Shou didn't remember seeing any lights on before but when they entered the room was lit carefully with the soft warm glow of candles. The two muddied boys bowed and removed their wet shoes by the door, shivering uncontrollably.
Shou managed to get a better look at the boy who had pushed him out of the road, he was tall with gray hair stuck to his pale forehead, he was in fact beautiful. Soft hazel brown eyes were concentrating on Shou, "Look at you. Are you injured anywhere?" The boy in the black school uniform similar to what Shou wore to Karasuno tilted his face upward tsking like a mother would. Shou felt himself lean towards the soft touch and calming scent wishing once more that he had known his own mother. The older boy stepped back with a sigh when he was sure Shou wasn't injured in anyway.
"Damn, no reception." The upperclassmen swore, he pulled his thin black jacket tight against his shivering form, glaring at the odd looking mobile phone in his hand. Shou giggled to himself, and those hazel eyes were back on him with a raised slightly bushy eyebrow.
"Sorry, uh, but with that old thing of course there's no reception." Shou tapped the silver bracelet around his thin wrist turning his hand palm up. It gave the usual warm glow, a tiny hologram appeared in his open palm, it was red and flashed the symbol for no internet connection, and no signal. However the taller boy's eyes widened.
"What is that? Where's that light coming from?" The older boy didn't hold back his awe.
"Sorry? It's my phone. See." Shou tapped the thin silver bracelet just over his wrist again, a small hologram appeared with several letters, "Here's my contact list. I just hit redial or pick a name. I mean it's not exactly the newest version but it gets stuff done. Right now it's not working. Not that I care to actually call anyone right now."
