A/N: A little angsty and sad. A little long
Suga sat down pulling Noya down into his lap, mimicking something he would do to the younger volleyball players when they were distressed. He had done this to Noya just a few weeks ago when he was feeling down about his hopeless crush on Asahi. Noya had decided it was just a one sided crush he would hide deep deep deep down. Suga had a similar conversation with the oblivious Asahi. Those two just needed to be locked in the supply closet until one of them confessed.
Suga's heart fell realizing those feelings never were expressed between the two, and all these years later their lives were so much more different from how Suga had thought it would ever be. "Oh, Noya. Such a mess." He sighed scenting the slightly shorter omega in his lap, Suga ran his chin over the sniffing libero's soft head. The two sat in front of the gravestone, Noya had lit incense and the smoke slowly danced skyward, the scent was meant to be calming but Suga felt far from being at peace. His heart ached for his lost friend, it pained at the broken omega in his lap and he felt so angry and sad for the Kageyamas. The ashen haired boy thought of the haunted look in the once energetic Tanaka Ryuu's eyes.
He wrapped his arms around his once younger friend, careful of the now adult man's braced arm. "This is no one's fault." Suga sighed, "No ones." He ran his fingers through the still spiked hair.
Yuu wiped at his eyes and sniffled, "It really is you." He whispered leaning back, taking in the gray haired boy's scent.
"Of course it is silly. Who else would it be?" Yuu shook his head giggling, feeling his whole body start to tremble, and the soft sound of sobbs filled the spaces between them.
"You're alright Noya. Let it out. I'm here. Just let it go." And the smaller man did just that, he leaned into his friend's soft touch. Suga ran fingers through his spikey hair, rocking them both back and forth. "It's okay. You know you always bottle it up, I guess things haven't changed." Suga huffed trying to lighten the heavy sadness.
"No, if anything it's only gotten worse. Oh god Suga, I can't believe this isn't a dream. It would be nice if Shoyo were to walk up next with his usual brighter than sunshine smile bouncing with endless energy.
"He is made of sunshine itself." Suga sighed, "You know I just saw him a few days ago but to you it would be longer. He didn't have a care in the world. I mean I walked in on him and Kageyama-kun, the two had been locked in somehow in the club changing room. Although it looked to me they were about to do more than argue. "
Noya giggled, sniffed and leaned his head back into his old senpai's chest. "Those two volleyball idiots. It didn't take them long to get together, you should have seen how they told each other they liked one another." Noya grinned, wiping at his eyes.
"I was kind of jealous to be honest. I mean, Shoyo has always been one to just go for what he wanted, he had a goal and nothing stopped him. Kageyama is the same but with a different kind of determination. Those two were quite the force when they got together. You would have loved it. Those two stood outside the club room towards the end of their first year after we won nationals, they were talking so loudly that even Tanaka flinched.
Daichi wasn't irritated and shouted for them to get their'-shit together and go home.'
"Daichi?" Suga raised an eyebrow knowing his boyfriend or rather exboyfriend wasn't one to ever swear.
"Yeah, he kinda changed there when you didn't come back. When you-well your funeral really broke some of us." Noya bit his cheek glaring down at his braced arm.
"Any way, I don't think he meant what they thought he did, he really wanted them to grab their gear and get their asses home. But I guess they took it another way. Well I went to go see what the big deal was, and, well the two at this point had completely ignored Daichi-san and were in each others faces. Like Kageyama had Shoyo lifted up by his shirt collar, and the little guy's feet were swinging but he was pulling at Tobio's collar. "I like you! YOU IDIOT!"
