Sho clutched his chest, Kawashi had returned or had he ever left? Kawashi always found Sho when Sho was lost or panicked. Why was his scent gone? Sho felt scent blind, usually Kawashi's scent was calming but their was no scent nothing, no air to breathe and the lights were dimming.
Kawashi! Sho wanted to cry out to beg the setter to make the air come faster. He just wanted the tightness strangling his lungs to loosen.
Kawashi was holding a hand over Sho's, he was trying to get the smaller boy to focus his breathing but Sho couldn't focus. It hurt to breathe, and with every struggled breath the pain grew more intense triggering a desperation to fight and more panic followed. The struggling tightened his chest continuing the oxygen deprived cycle.
He was drowning and all he could do was cling to the dark haired boy, "K-washi-help." Sho couldn't hear the alpha's reply, all sounds were garbled over the drumming in Sho's ears. Sho was drowning.
"I'm here. Breathe. I'm right here. I have you-"
"I can't-K-chan. I can't." Sho started to tremble. It was too much, his vision blurred and Sho felt as if he was tossed into the lake. Darkness consumed him, and he heard nothing. His body flailing losing the light from the surface. He tried to reach upward and hold Kawashi's reaching hand. It wasn't any use, the water smothered his cries until his thundering heart slowed and the struggle left him.
Kawashi yelled for help when Sho's eyes rolled back his stiff body going lax and he slumped forward.
"Sho!" Kawashi pulled the boy back, but there wasn't a response.
"Sho! Son!" Kageyama was there taking the boy into his lap, his own lungs restricting, his heart threatened to punch a hole in his chest.
"He's not breathing-oh godds! Not again." Kageyama felt helpless, his son's lips were a tinge of blue a sure sign no oxygen was getting to his son's fragile lungs.
"Move!" Tanaka slid to his knees, " Give him room! " Ryuu Tanaka laid the thin boy on his back tilting his chin back and started CPR.
Daichi grabbed a blanket from the bed he waited ready to start breathing for the omega, Tanaka looked serious and desperate.
"Not now. Not again." The tattooed alpha pushed down on the boy's chest counting before moving to check to see if the child was breathing. "Sho! Breathe!" Ryuu demanded, "Come on pup!" The once baldie remembered knocking on the Kageyama's door all those 15 years ago. "Not like this! Dammit! Not again!" The alpha counted with each push. "Hinata!" The alpha choked, "Not again."
He recalled that busy work day. How the flowers leading up to the cute blue house, lined the walk. He had whistled as he hopped up the steps a child's ball sat on one step. He pushed open the red door and he called out.
Ryuu was used to walking right in never really ever needing any permission, his young kouhais had always welcomed him like a big brother. Hell the pups all called him uncle.
"1, 2, 3, 4," Tanaka counted pressing into the boy's tiny chest feeling the crunch of bone beneath.
He recalled how he had thought it odd that Shoyo didn't answer right away, and the lights were off in the entrance way. He sniffed the air holding the bag of sugar moving from where he would normally remove his shoes. The house's normal warm scent was off, the smell of cinnamon and apples felt muted, instead the heavy scent of copper and salt.
He had called out again hurrying past the pictures framing the wall of the hallway. The scent of blood heavier as he found the kitchen, he dropped the sugar and shouted for "Shoyo!"
Tanaka of the future growled desperate in his mission to get the boy to breathe seeing another orange haired boy in the pup's place.
Tanaka muttered to himself, "So much blood."
