Officer Sawamura's deep growl was the only noise in that silent interrogation room, that bastard Ukai sat in that chair across that metal table, with nothing to say. The man arched an eyebrow at the angry scents released into the room, the kind that worked in breaking criminals down.
However the blond store owner ran a tongue under his lips over his teeth, looking very much like the delinquent his old friends had known him as. Those eyes were watching Daichi, not out of fear but more like observing the officer.
"I'm not one of your fucking volleyball players don't give me that fucking look." Daichi snarled, still the man in his signature red track pants and white-shirt continued to shake his head, as if it was the opposite of what Daichi was saying.
Ukai may have looked bored or unmoved by the situation, however it was the opposite. Most would see the officer as intimidating, sever with his quick judgments. Oh how the boy had become so jaded so jaded and made cynical by his job. However Ukai was watching a young teenager in that police uniform. The old alpha saw a distraught boy move away from that table, tears in his eyes running a hand through his short cropped hair. Those brown eyes that always showed concern for his friends, the warm hands that gave a reassuring pat on the back to more anxious teammates.
Daichi was solid, his words never brash or intentionally hurtful. Ukai knew that part of the kid, even before the kid ever would. Having the opportunity to see the boy grow into this man gave Ukai the edge.
It made it easy for the old coach to see through that rough exterior, through those fortified walls. He knew that under that uniform past those darkened eyes and seemingly permanent scowl, there was the boy. The boy that coach had put an arm around reassuring the young alpha that none of Suga's being lost was his fault. He offered that to the young teen, knowing at the time that this, losing Suga would break him. And it had, it broke the young alpha's heart, and Ukai knew there was more to it, even now when Suga had shown up at the shop looking upset and lost.
"How could you do this?" Daichi snapped fists hitting the table. "What did you do to him? Where is he? Why-why him?" Daichi's voice wavered pushing past his teeth. It wasn't out of sadness it was more rage, because the time for being sad had long past. These years of not knowing the truth had turned the officer's pain into rage and his answers were so close.
"Sir, his lawyer is demanding to be present-" a nervous young officer had knocked then entered. He was a beta and scrunched up his nose, the scent of anger rolling off the Captain was suffocating, how was the older alpha still able to look unaffected? Maybe he was a psychopath after all.
"He can fucking wait!" Daichi waved the younger man off, the door slamming in the kids rush to be out of that space.
"You think that you'll be out? You think that brat Tsukishima is going to get you out of this. Think a fucking again! I will personally see you rot away for the rest of your life. Now, goddammit, tell me where he is. Tell me so I can finally bring his mother some peace, so we can put a body in that empty grave. So that he can-"
Ukai shook his head, biting the inside of his cheek he wished he had a cigarette, these damn brats would be the death of him.
"If you didn't do this-" Daichi tried another approach, the man took in several deep breaths. "If you didn't do this, then how did you come by these things in your house? They were just sitting on your couch. They, they look just as if Suga had just been in your home. As if he had just stepped out of the gym that day he disappeared. His scent is still on my jacket, hell Kageyama nearly lost his shit when he identified that umbrella. "
Daichi left out the part where the unsteady alpha had pointed out the stain of red pacari on the inside. Kageyama usually so stoic had his own conflicting emotions to deal with, the man looked ready to break. Those pocari stains were from a day after practice when Hinata had forgotten to tighten his drink's lid and kicked it over near his umbrella.
