another week later..
JOHNNY ORLANDO shoved his hands into his pockets as lily chee sat herself between mads lewis and madison ziegler. the ravenette propped her feet against the table, lazily flicking through the yellow notebook she clutched in her right hand.
"right. we're in a hurry-" she gestured towards herself, mads and madison, "so we're gonna make this quick. everyone who has been called made it to the play, but bear in mind, just because you have a part doesn't mean we can't kick you out."
conversations broke out between the students, provoking mads. the brunette slammed her hands down onto the table, almost making it collapse. she was known for not having the best temper, although could be quite sweet.
"SHUT UP!" she yelled, silencing the throng of students.
"tHaNk yOu, i gUeSs," lily mumbled to the silver eyed girl quietly, "okay. the name of this play is called 'lost in battle'. it's about a female teenager who doesn't exactly have the best life. she fights with her parents, with her inner demons, until a boy comes along and makes her life not like hell anymore. but it's not long till she's back battling, feeling lost, when the boy gets mixed up with the wrong crowd."
"jaysus chryst mate, that's fuckin' deep as shit," a blonde boy called out with a heavy accent, looking kinda bored yet intrigued at the same time, "now can ya get to the bloody castin' or not like?"
"i'm getting there, carson, so shut your damn mouth," lily stared at carson, annoyed, "you're acting like mads on a good day- ooOoOoooOw! you know it's true!"
mads, whom was checking herself out in a small, silver, hand mirror reached over and smacked lily on the shoulder. madison rolled her eyes and snatched the yellow notebook from lily's loose grip, causing the latter to yell in mock outrage.
"oi, shut up," madison scolded, rolling her eyes three times, "okayyy! the people from the least dialogue to the protagonists, let's go! if i'm honest, most of you here will probably only have a few lines. but when you're on stage, YOU MUST BE ACTING. or else the scene looks shit."
"thank you for the fabulous pep talk," lily said sarcastically.
"yeah, i'm soooo inspired now," added mads teasingly, giving the blonde a playful jab, leaning across lily.
the two started bickering, causing a loud sigh from all the students, in perfect harmony. the clock ticked as minutes passed, tate mcrae pulling out a colouring book, maisy stella talking to her pet rock, people climbing onto tables and chairs that were supposed to be props.
a loud screech interrupted, the chaos stopping abruptly. lily chee had found herself a microphone, smashing the head of it onto the ground. #stopmicabuse
"OKAY!" lily screamed into the microphone, "TATE MCRAE AS ELLEN O-" mads lunged for the microphone, tackling the brown-eyed girl out of her seat aggressively.
"I WANT THE MIC!" mads whined, her voice shrill, piercing the air, "YOU'VE HAD IT FOR SIX MINUTES AND THIRTEEN SECONDS!"
"you know what we should've done?" madison exhaled exasperatedly, "we should've just printed out the cast and pinned it to the noticeboard."
the entire room groaned.
