MACKENZIE ZIEGLER heard excited squeals of delight, as each person found out their character. she huffed as she tapped her foot impatiently, rolling her eyes. mackenzie was tempted to shove her way to the front, when at last the crowd cleared away a tad bit.

"finally!" mackenzie exclaimed. she slipped through the groups of the remaining people, her eyes scanning the paper lightly.

mackenzie stopped reading the list after that, quickly realizing that the rest were people that were irrelevant to her. wait a minute...

mackenzie's eyes looked at the first name again. it read mackenzie ziegler, printed in black letters. she thought she had fucked up the audition, but she made it to the first character role.

before mackenzie could celebrate, she read it again, groaning softly as johnny's name barely left her lips. it was most likely that madison didn't have a say in this. mackenzie knew madison wouldn't allow it.

trying to divert her thoughts from her former lover, mackenzie's mind wandered to brynn's part. hopefully brynn would be her enemy, not her friend in the play. it honestly would be real hard trying to be nice to the blonde.

"fuck off, would ya?"

mackenzie turned and rolled her eyes, typical. it was johnny orlando, swearing at lily chee.

"what, i'm just saying! your girlfriend is really hot, or should i say, ex-girlfriend?" lily smirked, knowing she got him there as he winced, like he was in pain.

"just go and fuck mads, can you?" johnny growled, "i want to find my role in the play, and get the bleeding hell outta here,"

"too bad after lunch we're explaining the characters," lily shrugged, keeping eye contact with the green-eyed boy. "you might want to see what place you landed in."

johnny rolled his eyes, shaking the hood of his hoodie off his head. "whatever. i probably got the janitor's son, or the guy who honks a bloody horn in the middle of someone getting into a car crash－ oh."

johnny orlando stopped in his tracks, his eyes landing on mackenzie.

"you got the part as matthew gilman! congratulations!" mackenzie said sarcastically. "holy shit, i hope we don't have to breathe next to each other!"

"mackenzie," johnny began. "i.. i'm sorr-"

"save it," mackenzie snapped. "not in the mood for this, orlando, okay? save your breath, i know you haven't changed," mackenzie said defiantly. "now i got to go－"

"ziegler," lily pressed her mouth into a thin line, almost nervous like. mackenzie's eyes wandered to johnny, whose fist was clenched tightly. it was no secret that lily chee was bisexual.

"chee," mackenzie mocked. then she made a split second decision. she walked as confidently as she could to lily, and slammed her lips against the ravenette.
