"Wait," Ivar spoke, holding up his finger against your lips to silence you. "Before you continue...this Osiris married his sister?"

"Yes, Ivar." You nod, looking down at your beloved as he played with your fingers whilst intertwining them with his calloused ones.

"That is precisely what I told you. So, Osiris became the sole ruler of the kingdom of Egypt and reigned upon it. He found the people to be brutish, fighting among themselves and killing one another."

"What is wrong with fighting and war?" Ivar interrupts as you take notice of his brows knitting in confusion. "Tyr and Odin have taught us not to tolerate any evil."

"I know but the tale has not yet finished. Now, don't interrupt, Ivar." You reply with an edge of annoyance. He nods and caresses the palm of your hand with his heated lips. The tantalizing feeling sends shivers through your body yet you continue.

"Osiris went on to teach the people laws and how to live peacefully and jovially together, delighting themselves with music and poetry. As soon as Egypt was filled with peace and plenty, Osiris set out over the world to bring his blessings upon other nations. While he went away, he left Isis to rule over the land."

"That is impossible!" Ivar protested. "Women are able to fight in battles to honour the Gods but they cannot rule. How did this woman achieve to rule an entire kingdom, herself?"

"The same way your mother ruled the city of Kattegat, Ivar." You replied to his demurrals which happened to occur each time Ivar had gotten sick. "Now, stop interrupting or I'll have no choice but to leave."

He rolled his eyes yet he continued to listen to your melodious voice which always seemed to soothe his soul. He truly believed that you were Freya's gift for him and he thanked her every day.
