Hunter's been driving for a while now. I really didn't mind though, we were together and that's all that mattered. The stars started to appear from the dark sky, I knew we were long gone from the Valley.
"Hunter."
"Yes?" He asks.
"Where exactly are you taking me?"
"Well Ronnie, your mother and Arthur thought it be a good idea if you'd have a vacation after being locked up for nine months."
I roll my eyes at his locked up comment.
"So where is this vacation going to be at?"
"In the middle of a forest."
"What?"
"We're going to be spending the weekend in a cottage."
"Really?"
"I even got you this present you're going to love."
"Can't wait to see it."
Minutes later we arrive at a whole neighborhood of cottages in some forest. It looked so beautiful.
"Go inside, I'll get the suitcases in the meantime." Hunter says.
"Suitcases?"
"Yeah, our suitcases filled with clothes. You didn't think we were going to be naked, did you?" He says smirking, poking my stomach.
"Shut up." I reply, going inside the cottage.
It's more beautiful inside, it has such a comfortable vibe making me want to live here.
My eyes widen when entering the only bedroom here.
There's a huge comfortable looking bed in the middle.
"Wow! That's a big bed." Hunter says coming in with our suitcases.
"Yeah, and it's all for me. On the plus side the couch looks comfortable."
"I'm sleeping with you Ronnie." He says, lifting me up, bridal style, placing us on the bed so now he's on top of me.
We stare at each others eyes deeply.
"You're so beautiful." He whispers.
How I wanted to kiss him badly. He'd be my first kiss. I'm positive it would be perfect because I love him as much he loves me.
"Let's change into our PJ's so we can watch the fireworks." He says burying his face on the crook of my neck.
Hunter stays like that, not bothering to move an inch.
"Hunter."
"Yes?" His voice sound's muffled, I could tell he was close to falling asleep.
"How about you go to sleep and we'll watch the fireworks tomorrow?"
"No, I want to take you today. Don't you want to see your present?"
"In that case, get off me so we can get ready."
He gets off me, helping me up in the process.
Hunter passes me my suitcase. I take out a pair of sweats with a band T-shirt. When I'm all changed, I go back to the room where Hunter is at waiting for me, laying on the bed, his strong arms behind his head.
"Did you pack my slippers?" I ask.
He smiles, pointing down at his feet and surely my favorite pair of penguin slippers are on his huge feet.
"No!" He exclaims dramatically as I grabbed them.
"But they're comfortable."
"Hunter they don't even fit you."
I notice the gray beanie on his head, something else that belongs to me also.
"Hunter is that my beanie?"
"Yes."
"Might as well borrow some of my dresses."
"Maybe I can try some on when we come back." He says grabbing his backpack.
"Can't wait." I mumble sarcastically.
He takes my hand, leading us outside.
"Do you mind walking?"
"But my slippers are going to get dirty."
"Here." He says passing me the backpack.
"Get on my back, I'll give you a piggy back ride."
"What if you get tired?"
"Then we trade shoes and you can carry me."
"Deal."
I get on his back and he starts walking.
A couple minutes later we arrive at a beautiful clearing. It's about three whole acres of nothing but grass with families or couples lying on blankets, some kids are playing or running around.
Hunter puts me down, then grabs the backpack, pulling out a soft blanket and a pillow.
"What about my pillow Hunter?"
"My chest can be your pillow."
"You're so romantic." I say, pinching his cheek.
"Only for you babe." He replies.
I watch as he lays down.
"Are you going to stand all day or..."
I lay down, placing my head on his chest, hugging him tightly.
Silence greets us. The only thing I'm listening to is his heartbeat and his soft humming.
"So all those thing's you wrote me in the letters. Did you mean them?" He finally speaks up.
"Every single thing."
"So all those romantic things, they were true?"
"Yup."
"You know you're the first girl I've ever pictured a future with. I picture us together forever."
"You pictured us like that?"
"Yes, don't you?"
"All the time."
Suddenly loud popping noises come from the sky. We both look up at the colorful fireworks.
"Fireworks are breathtaking." I say in a trance by them.
"They're not as breathtaking as you, Veronica." Hunter says, placing a kiss on my forehead.
When the fireworks finish, music goes off by some person who brought their guitar.
"Time to show you your present." Hunter says.
I quickly sit up, watching him pull out a red folder out of his backpack.
He passes me the red folder.
"Look at what's inside."
Once I read the papers that were in the folder my eyeballs almost come out of their socket.
